Biden Makes Wild Claim, Says He Would Have Beaten Trump in Election

According to a wild report in the Washington Post, one that was published on Saturday, December 28, President Joe Biden has privately said that he regrets dropping out because he thinks he could have beaten now-President-elect Donald Trump in the November election had he stayed in the race instead of dropping out in favor of Kamala.

As a reminder, President Biden dropped out of the race in July, after his disastrous summer debate with Trump. That debate saw him nearly unable to answer any question of note with a coherent answer as he stumbled over his words, froze up, mumbled, and generally looked like a near-dementia patient. Trump took the opportunity to sit back and let Biden eviscerate himself.

So, in the wake of that disaster, Biden dropped out, saying, “Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.”

He continued, “I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world. It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

In any case, now Biden regrets having done so and thinks that he would have been able to win had he not dropped out. According to the report in the Washington Post, “Biden and some of his aides still believe he should have stayed in the race, despite the rocky debate performance and low poll numbers that prompted Democrats to pressure him to drop out.”

The Washington Post report further noted that Biden has been saying he could have won, ranting about the election: “Biden and these aides have told people in recent days that he could have defeated Trump, according to people familiar with their comments, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations.”

Further, the Washington Post noted that Biden has been unhappy with his Attorney General, Merrick Garland, as he thinks Garland has been too aggressive in going after Hunter and not aggressive enough in attacking Trump. According to it, he has been “complaining about the Justice Department’s slowness under Garland in prosecuting Trump, and its aggressiveness in prosecuting Biden’s son Hunter, according to people familiar with his comments.”

In addition to the debate, one reason given for Biden’s big failure was his inability to grasp the new media environment, a fault Kamala fell prey to as well. Speaking about that issue earlier in December, Biden said, “We pick what news we want to hear — it’s a totally different deal. We’ve got to figure out how we deal with this significant technological change. If Nixon was more accustomed to television, he wouldn’t have perspired so much, and he would be president when he’d beat Kennedy. I know that sounds silly. But think of the changes taking place. Where do you go? What is true? We have no evidence anymore. I’m not sure how that gets resolved.”
