During her surprise appearance on Fox and Friends on Friday, December 6, Melania didn’t just hand out presents to the children of military service members and first responders and talk about preparing to move back into the White House, though she did that. She also commented on how Barron helped his dad win the presidency.
She said, commenting on the election, that when the Trump campaign was rolling, Barron convinced now-President-elect Trump to sit down with a number of large internet personalities, namely podcasters, and talk about things in long form conversations with them, helping him get his message out to and connect with a younger and larger audience than traditional media channels allow.
That came when she was asked about her son: “What do you think the evolution of your son? He’s a grown man now,” she was asked. She said, commenting on what Barron did and his political astuteness despite his young age, “He is a grown young man. I’m very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving an advice to his father.”
Continuing, she noted why Barron’s advice was necessary given how the media landscape has dramatically changed, saying, “He brought in so many young people he knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore. They’re all on the tablets, they’re on the phones and all of these podcasts and streamers.”
Noting that Barron had the idea and didn’t let it go, pushing his dad to really take his advice, Melania added, on that same point about Barron, “He was very vocal, and he gave an advice to his father. And was incredible how he brought in a success, because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to.”
Given how well Barron has turned out, the co-hosts then wanted to know what advice Melania would give other mothers who are raising kids and want to know how to handle each heartwarming stage of their life. She was asked, “What advice do you have for other moms that are because I’ll go back and I’ll look at videos of my daughter when she was that age, and there’s there’s like a pain in my heart, because I miss those years when you what’s your advice for all of us that your sons in college now you’ve seen him grow up? How do you handle each stage?”
Responding, Melania noted how important it is to really try to be present with children as they are growing up, saying, “I think you need to be present and to be with them as much as you can, to be there as a teacher and guidance. Give them guidance. I think it’s the most important because years goes by so fast.”
Building on that point, she added that time tends to go buy quite fast with children so that even videos of them as much younger kids feel like they were taken just the other day. She said, “We just don’t imagine it’s like you I see the clip that you just showed, I feel like it was like a few months ago, right? But the time goes so fast.”
