During the Sunday, November 24 NFL game between the Rams and the Eagles, a fan saw NBA star LeBron James in a private suite and started shouting at him, taunting the Lakers star for having attended parties hosted by now-jailed pop star and entertainment mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
As background, Diddy has been accused of having done all manner of awful things at the parties hosted at his house. Particularly, in charges reminiscent to many of what happened with financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, Diddy is accused of having bene a sex trafficker and committed numerous financial violations.
The DOJ, in a September statement on the matter, said, “Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and William S. Walker, the Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI”), announced that SEAN COMBS, a/k/a “Puff Daddy,” a/k/a “P. Diddy,” a/k/a “PD,” a/k/a “Love,” was arrested last night and charged in a three count Indictment with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The Indictment unsealed today alleges that between 2008 and the present, COMBS abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.”
In any case, the NFL fan yelled at LeBron, during the Sunday Rams-Eagles game, “Bron! Bron! We know you was at them Diddy parties, n***a, we know you was there. We know you was at them Diddy parties!” While LeBron has not been linked to any of Diddy’s alleged wrongdoing in the charges, he has referenced attending the mogul’s parties.
Namely, in a video posted to Instagram Live four years ago, LeBron, alongside Diddy in the video, referenced the now-infamous parties. He said, in the video, “Hey, everybody know, ain’t no party like a Diddy party.” As might be expected, that clip resurfaced alongside others of celebrities referencing the parties when the case against Combs became public.
As the Rams-Eagles game attendee yelled at LeBron from relatively close to the private box suite, LeBron did not react to the shouting and instead stared straight ahead at the game, ignoring the shouting despite obviously being able to hear it, as others in the suite with him looked down at the shouter. Watch the incident here:
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said, commenting on the Diddy case, “As alleged in the Indictment, for years, Sean Combs used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice. Today, he is charged with racketeering and sex trafficking offenses. If you have been a victim of Combs’ alleged abuse – or if you know anything about his alleged crimes – we urge you to come forward. This investigation is far from over.”
Similarly, HSI Acting Special Agent in Charge William S. Walker said: “Today, we shatter any false notion of impunity as we uncover the defendant’s alleged pattern of manipulation, exploitation, and outright abuse. Make no mistake: we are here today only because of the unwavering strength of victims and witnesses who have already endured unspeakable hardships. I commend them for their courage and urge anyone who believes they are a victim of sex trafficking to contact HSI by email at [email protected], or via our mobile tip-line: 1-877-4-HSITIP.”
