In what was another crushing moment for the woke co-hosts of ABC’s “The View,” the show co-hosts had to read off another on-air legal note after going on the attack against former president and now-President-elect Donald Trump for his Cabinet picks, alleging falsely that being a sexual assault suspect is a criteria for being a Cabinet pick.
Particularly, when making the ridiculous suggestion that a history of sexual assault allegations is a prerequisite, the co-hosts when on the attack against former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who withdrew after the show aired from being the VP nominee, and Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseh.
After going on the attack and smearing both men, the co-hosts, particularly Sunny Hostin, had to backtrack and read off a legal note stating that though both Gaetz and Hegseth have been investigated, they have denied wrongdoing and have not been charged by law enforcement with any crime.
Bringing up the matter, co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, “Sexual misconduct allegations seem not to matter anymore.” Continuing with the conversation kick off, she said, “Seems like unless you have a sexual misconduct allegation, you can’t be in the cabinet. That’s what it’s looking like, because I mean, was it 11 people and maybe one of the 11 doesn’t have something going on?”
Chiming in, co-host Joy Behar pretended that Trump is looking for accused sex offenders to put in his cabinet, claiming, “It’s like, oh, let’s see, who’s accused of sexual assault? Put them in the cabinet!” The woke co-host then added, further making up a situation, “And they’re like, ‘Pick me! Pick me!’”
They weren’t the only ones to join in. Also doing so was Sara Haines, who claimed that not just the administration but the MAGA movement is becoming connected to sex offenders as “part of” the MAGA “agenda.” She said, “But one interesting thing was Karoline Leavitt, who’s Trump’s pick for White House press secretary said, ‘He has chosen brilliant and highly-respected outsiders to serve in his administration and he will continue to stand behind them as they fight against all those who seek to derail the MAGA agenda.’ I would encourage them to separate sexual assault and sexual offenders from their MAGA agenda or you’re telling me this is part of your agenda and that’s what’s coming out.”
Chiming back in with a huff and claiming that these cabinet picks are “the beginning of the end” for MAGA, Behar said, “So, I mean, that’s the beginning of the end right there! People should have been alerted to what would be coming down the pike right there! So, I’m not surprised by this at all.”
Later on, Hostin had to read off a legal note about the claims the co-hosts had made. She said, “I have a legal note. Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations and has not been charged with any crime. Gaetz previously dismissed allegations that he paid for sex saying that, quote, “Someone is trying to re-categorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward. Another legal note, Pete Hegseth’s lawyer said he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit. He has denied any wrongdoing.” Not taking it seriously, Joy Behar said, “Just call the show ‘Legal Note’ from now on.”
