Former First Son Barron Trump has been praised for the significant role he has played in his father’s campaign strategy. Those close to former President Donald Trump claim that 18-year-old Barron, who is attending college at the prestigious New York University, has helped orchestrate Trump’s various podcast appearances ahead of the election.
The Republican Presidential candidate has sat down for interviews with numerous high-profile podcasters and live streamers such as Joe Rogan, Theo Von, Adin Ross, and more. This has allowed Trump to improve his reach to much younger audiences who are increasingly listening to shows on the podcast format.
During an interview on a Politico podcast, Trump senior advisor Jason Miller said, “Barron has been very involved in selecting or recommending, I should say, a number of the podcasts that we should do. I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broken the internet. He’s done a great job.”
Similarly, Trump spoke about Barron’s role in advising him during an interview with Breitbart News earlier in the summer. “My son, he’s a great kid — a tall kid — he’s a great kid. He said ‘Dad, you got to do Adin Ross.’ Barron is the one that pressed me to do it. That’s a big deal, isn’t it? The platform did over 100 million hits in one day,” Trump said.
During his interview with podcasting legend Joe Rogan last week, Trump also highlighted how Barron helped him navigate the world of podcasts. “So I have a son who’s very smart and tall Barron, right? And he knows all about you. He knows about guys I never heard of. He said, ‘Dad, you don’t know how big they are. They’re big.’ I said, ‘Who the hell is he? Like Ross?” Trump said, speaking about his appearance on Adin Ross’ popular podcast.
Continuing to speak about the new mediums of entertainment that he has utilized, Trump said, “I mean, guys that are doing, it’s a whole new world out there. It’s a different world. And, you know, I’m on TikTok now. And I’ve done really well … Have you seen the numbers? Billions, like, billions of hits.” He added, “And I’ve done up 30 points. A Republican is always down 30 with young people. I’m plus 30 and I’m on Tiktok.”
Weighing in on the rising trends of conservatism among the youth, Rogan noted, “I think young people are rejecting a lot of this woke bullsh*t. Young people are tired of being yelled at and scolded. They’re tired of these people that they think are mentally ill telling them what the moral standards of society should be today. And people are upset.”
Trump replied, “It’s a big there’s a big difference now, but even in just a couple of years, I was shaking hands with people. They’re young people.” Rogan then observed that it has now become an act of rebellion to be conservative. “The rebels are Republicans. Now they’re like, you want to be a rebel. You want to be punk rock. You want to like the system. You’re a conservative now you,” the podcaster said.
