Funnily enough for those who enjoy seeing the woke left self-destruct as internal fights escalate and continue, the social media spat between Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) over Israel and Hamas has continued, with Sen. Fetterman firing back after AOC accused him of a “bleak dunk attempt” when he criticized her Israel-Hamas conflict take.
The spat began with a post from AOC about the Biden-Harris Administration’s stance on the war in Gaza, in which she attacked Israel’s conduct as being “unrestrained” and called for the American government to “stop enabling” that war as a way of aiding the Palestinian civilians who are suffering from the conflict.
She said, in that aggressive post, “The horrors unfolding in northern Gaza are the result of a completely unrestrained Netanyahu gov, fully armed by the Biden admin while food aid is blocked and patients are bombed in hospitals. This is a genocide of Palestinians. The US must stop enabling it. Arms embargo now.”
Washington, DC-focused news outlet The Hill then wrote an article about her tweet, titling it, “Ocasio-Cortez criticizes Biden administration over ‘unrestrained’ Israel government.” Sen. Fetterman used a screenshot of that article to fire at AOC, tweeting, “The tragedy in Gaza is 100% on Hamas. Stop using civilians and hospitals as shields, surrender, and release all remaining hostages—and this ends.”
Rep. AOC then freaked out and fired back at him snapping, “I dunno man. I care about little kids dying. I care about human rights. I care that billions of US tax dollars’ worth of weapons are carrying out unspeakable atrocities. I care enough for us to do better. Hope this bleak dunk attempt gets you whatever it is you’re going for.”
She then, obliquely criticizing opinions like those of Sen. Fetterman, retweeted a post from “All in With Chris Hayes” that said, “WATCH: @chrislhayes honors Shaban Al Dalu, a Palestinian teen who burned to death after an Israeli strike. ‘That young man should have celebrated his 20th birthday today. Instead, the world became a witness to his violent death in a video depicting the endless horrors in Gaza—horrors that whether we like it or not, our government and our weapons are facilitating day after day until something changes.'”
Sen. Fetterman then, the next day, similarly seemingly obliquely fired back at AOC, or at least those with opinions like hers, by congratulating the Israelis on their “elimination” of a terrorist leader, saying, “I want to salute Israel and celebrate the elimination of Yahya Sinwar—a necessary move for any future enduring peace. Eliminating the mastermind of the 10/7 massacre is the definition of justice served. My vote and my voice for Israel will not waver.”
Again seemingly responding obliquely, AOC retweeted a post from Mehdi Hasan that praised Kamala for her rhetoric on the conflict, saying, “Good rhetoric (especially on Palestinian & Lebanese ‘suffering’ and ending the conflict), and much better rhetoric than Biden and Trump, but rhetoric isn’t enough. There has to be action. A plan. The use of our leverage. Not non-stop bombs. The US – and the VP – are not bystanders, they are participants.”
Watch Fetterman make a major prediction about Trump winning Pennsylvania:
