Hundreds Gather AGAIN to Hear Christian Author at Library Trying to Turn Him Away

Christian author Kirk Cameron has been at the forefront of the battle to change the literature our children are introduced to in their early education. After being denied by multiple public libraries due to his most recent book’s inability to “align with the values” of an Indianapolis public library, Cameron is speaking to massive audiences as he hosts story hours in front of hundreds of fans.

At Scarsdale Public Library, in Westchester County, New York, Cameron read his book which shares messages of love, faith, and patriotism. Cameron’s speech has gone semi-viral in Christian circles, due to his message of family values, from this quote shared by Fox News.

“We’re here because we love God, we love our families, our children, we love our country, and we love Scarsdale Public Library. We’re so grateful that we get to be here and read this story.”

Cameron, who has made a name for himself by showing an unabashed love for his country, sang “God Bless America” with his audience in a move that will undoubtedly stick with those kids for years to come.

Central to Cameron’s battle against the libraries has been his belief that “God gave your children to you and not to the government.” He joins an ever-growing list of Americans who wish to reclaim the right to raise their children as they see fit, not according to the rules of school board members who may be pushing their own agenda.

Cameron has been rejected by as many as 50 public libraries as he tries to share As You Grow with young audiences around the nation, according to Fox News, who said the following:

More than 50 public libraries around the country either outright rejected Cameron’s requests to conduct readings or did not respond to requests on his behalf.

Yet an estimated 2,500 people attended his reading in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday. It was the biggest crowd the library had seen in 137 years, according to the library’s comments.

A crowd of close to 1,000 attended the Scarsdale reading, according to an estimate by Cameron’s publisher, Brave Books.

If those numbers are anything to go by, As You Grow has been a massive success. On its Amazon listing, As You Grow is already touting a 4.5-star rating after 145 reviews.  In a brief summary of the story, the listing says the following.

“This fun story with brilliant art teaches the Biblical truths of the Fruit of the Spirit. Follow Sky Tree’s journey from a small acorn to a mighty tree that provides shade, sustenance, and lodging!”

Kirk Cameron sees this as a massive victory and thinks that the reading of his book will help everyone live better lives, according to the Daily Wire.

“I hope they realized that their position of denying me a story hour reading was not only unfair and illegal, but that we would all be better off if we listened to each other’s perspectives.”
