Donations have poured in for an Arkansas man arrested for allegedly killing a predator who was caught with his missing 14-year-old daughter. Aaron Spencer, 36, was recently arrested for allegedly killing 67-year-old Michael Fosler after he found her with his teenage daughter. Following his arrest, Fosler has received substantial donations for his legal fees.
As background, the Spencer family reportedly had a no-contact order against Foster, who had allegedly stalked the family’s 14-year-old daughter throughout the summer. Fosler was reportedly arrested by an agency in July for the internet stalking of a child and sexual assault.
Heather Spencer, Aaron’s wife, shared a post on Facebook shedding light on the situation. “As the sheriffs office and news stations start reporting I think a few details are super important to note. This man had a no contact order for stalking/graping our child. We absolutely called 911 during the entire event. We had no idea this man was in contact with our child again.”
“He was waiting 6-9 felonies for what he did, not 2. He was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness. We 100% in the moment thought he had taken her to kill her. Some things we will never know, but we know that the police department afforded this predator privacy they did not give our family. Including posting our home address. I’m deeply offended by the way this was handled by the county sheriffs office,” Spencer continued, taking issue with how authorities have handled the situation.
Following his arrest, Spencer was charged with a Class Y felony of first-degree murder. However, he was able to post bond and return home with his family. Reportedly, defense lawyers believe they can have the charges reduced based on the unique circumstances of the case. As news of the arrest broke, over $100,000 in donations poured into to a GoFundMe set up for the family’s legal expenses.
However, the fundraiser was pulled from the site without explanation. Heather gave an update on her Facebook post that read, “Our gofundme me was removed and people are being issued refunds. If you donated I apologize I have no idea why this happening. We are still able to receive funds via cashapp and Venmo so please consider donating there for now while we figure this all out.”
However, the nonprofit organization Gun Owners of Arkansas recently set up a fundraiser to help the Specner family. “After conducting research and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident involving Mr. Aaron Spencer, Gun Owners of Arkansas has concluded that he was justified in his actions under Arkansas Self Defense Law, despite being preliminarily charged with first-degree murder,” the group stated. “We have mobilized our Defense Fund Account to support a fellow gun owner.”
“Right now we need to secure a good lawyer to fight these crazy charges. At the end of the day, our daughter is a victim and we have a long road of recovery for everyone. We are so thankful for all the calls, messages and prayers. Despite the legal stuff, our family has been through something we don’t wish on anyone. Please keep us in your prayers, if you can donate great, but prayers are holding us together right now,” Heather Spencer added in her Facebook post.
