In a scorcher of a press conference he hosted in southern California on Friday, September 13, former President Donald Trump sounded off on ABC News presidential debate co-moderator David Muir. Particularly, he scorched Muir for pushing supposed fact-checks during the debate, fact-checks that were only directed at the former president, even when Kamala lied, and the veracity of which Trump questioned.
Former President Trump took particular umbrage with how Muir, an ABC News anchor who served as a co-debate moderator alongside Linsey Davis, fact-checked him on his claim that crime perpetrated by violent migrants is skyrocketing and out of control, with Muir pointing to FBI data and saying that violent crime is down. Muir said, during the debate, “As you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country.”
Trump, infuriated by Muir’s supposed fact-check, said that a Bureau of Justice Statistics isn’t needed to tell that crime is way up, saying, “You know, you wouldn’t have to need a Bureau of Justice Statistics to know that crime is worse than it’s ever been. And I guess they probably watched the debate, and they heard this foolish man, this foolish fool, make that statement to me, that ‘no, no crime is coming down.'”
The former president then noted that the FBI data is less than accurate given that some cities stopped reporting crime data to the FBI, and so that data isn’t included in the report, which makes it look, incorrectly, that crime is down. He said, “The FBI said it was coming down. The FBI defrauded everybody, because what they did is they use statistics, not including some of the worst areas and some of the worst cities.”
Then, noting what he sees the correct report as being, former President Trump pointed to a recent report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics to note that crime does indeed appear to be on the increase, whatever the FBI says. He said, “So the real numbers are from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, and they just released it.”
He then joked that the Bureau of Justice Statistics must like him because its report proves his haters wrong, and that David Muir’s hair is “great,” but not as great as it used to be. He said, “So I think they probably like me, because they wanted to defend me from people that are not smart from a guy who has good hair, but not as good as it was five years ago.”
Watch Trump sound off here:
Trump, commenting more recently on Kamala Harris and the illegal immigration problem, along with similarly devastating matters, said, “No Vice President in HISTORY has done more damage to the U.S. economy than Kamala Harris. Twice, she cast the deciding votes that caused the worst inflation in 50 years. She abolished our borders and flooded our country with 21 million illegal aliens. ”
He continued, commenting on jobs and Kamala’s fake policies, as he described them, “Is anything less expensive than it was 4 years ago? Where are the missing 818,000 jobs? We don’t want to hear Kamala’s fake promises and hastily made-up policies—we want to hear an APOLOGY for all the jobs and lives she has DESTROYED.”
