Following a disaster of a word salad speech in Pittsburg, Vice President and 2024 Democratic Party presidential candidate Kamala Harris got hilariously roasted for the word salad of a speech, one which made little to no sense and reads like she was having a stroke while speaking and only got out gibberish.
As background, the speech came on Wednesday, the 25th of September, when Kamala was speaking at the Economic Club of Pittsburgh. While speaking, she focused mainly on her economic agenda and what she would pursue as president, and tried to comment on the spirit of American inspiration.
It was that attempt that really tripped her up and led to the word salad. “We need to guard that spirit. We have to guard that spirit. Let it always inspire us. Let it always be the source of our optimism, which is that spirit that is uniquely American. Let that then inspire us by helping us to be inspired to solve the problems that so many face, including our small business owners,” Vice President Harris said.
As might be expected, Kamala got utterly roasted online for the meandering word salad of a speech that she gave. “Vapidity upon vapidity!” the Washington Examiner’s Quin Hillyer said. Quite funnily, a commenter told Mr. Hillyer, “The degree of vapidity is inversely proportional to the degree of competence.”
Similarly, conservative personality Steve Cortes chimed in and asked if Kamala is the worst public speaker in the history of American presidential politics, writing, “🚨Is Kamala Harris the worst extemporaneous speaker in the history of presidential politics? ‘Let that then inspire us by helping us to be inspired.’”
On much the same note, Doug Powers used Kamala’s infamous “unburdened by what has been line” against her, saying, “Imagine if you will, unburdened by what has been, four straight years of this.” Another joked, “Vice President Predictive Text strikes again.” And, on the same note, another said, “Word Salad Queen strikes again.”
Still another commenter said that what makes Kamala’s rambling nonsense all the worse is that she has a self-satisfied smile she wears when she’s done with it, writing, “The only thing worse is that self-satisfied smile she wears when her listeners, for reasons only known to God, applaud. Can’t wait for her to be sent home.”

During the same speech, Kamala rambled about the “opportunity economy,” saying, “So, I call my vision the “opportunity economy,” and it’s about making sure — everyone can find a job and more — and more. Because, frankly, having a job, I believe, in our ambition and aspiration should be baseline, and we should aspire and have the ambition and plan to do more.”
She continued, saying only vague and feel-good things rather than giving any sort of policy prescriptions, “I want Americans and families to be able to not just get by but be able to get ahead — to thrive — be able to thrive. I don’t want you to have to worry about making your monthly rent if your car breaks down. I want you to be able to save up for your child’s education, to take a nice vacation from time to time. I want you to be able to buy Christmas presents for your loved ones without feeling anxious when you’re looking at your bank statement. I want you to be able to build some wealth not just for yourself but also for your children and your grandchildren — intergenerational wealth.”
She then said, “And here’s the thing. Here’s the thing. Here’s the beauty of it all. We know how to build an economy like that. We do know how to unlock strong, shared economic growth for the American people. History has shown it time and again: When we invest in those things that strengthen the middle class — manufacturing, housing, health care, education, small businesses, and our communities — we grow our economy and catalyze the entire country to succeed.”
