Speaking during a recent appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” program to discuss the assassination attempts on her husband that occurred in July and September, describing her reaction to those stomach-churning shootings in what was her first appearance for a television interview in over two years.
Speaking about the sickening attempt on Trump’s life that occurred at a mid-July rally of his in the small town of Butler, Pennsylvania, Melania described running to the television near her and flipping it on to find out what was going on and what happened to her beloved husband, saying, “I ran to the TV and I [rewound] it and I watched it.”
Continuing, she said that she saw what happened a few minutes after it happened live and that no one knew what was going on but that she could see him on the floor of the stage. Beginning that, she told “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt, “I didn’t really see [it] live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a few minutes later.”
Building on that, she described how it was hard to tell what was happening at first but that he was on the ground, adding to the horror and confusion. She said, “But when I saw it, I, you know, it was only… Nobody really knew yet. Because when you see him on the floor, and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”
Then, describing the other attempt, which occurred in Mar-a-Lago, on the golf course, Melania said that she first heard about it on television and that the Secret Service did a fantastic job handling it. She said, “I saw it on the television and as soon as I saw it on television, I called again, and he was OK because Secret Service were great.”
She added, speaking about the Secret Service yet further and describing her husband’s survival in both situations as a “miracle,” “The guys that they were, the team, they were fantastic. And I think both of the events, they were really miracles. If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle. How… like that much, and he could, you know, he could not be with us.”

This isn’t the first time that Melania spoke out about the assassination attempts; she did so as well in a video posted to X in which she called for answers. In the video, the former First Lady Melania Trump said that the attempt on Trump’s life was horrific and that she wants answers. Beginning, she described just how traumatic the experience was for the Trump family, describing it as “horrible” and “distressing.” She said, “The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience.”
Then, calling for answers and a proper investigation, calling out the “silence around” the case and questioning law enforcement decisions, she said, “Now the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth.”
