Following JD Vance’s epic rebuttal to a hostile question from an MSNBC reporter, conservative users on social media praised the Republican vice presidential candidate for his handling of the situation. Over the past couple of months, the Ohio Republican senator has exploded in popularity among conservatives for his ability to maneuver attacks from the mainstream media with expertise in a way that highlights the Make America Great Again platform.
During the incident, the reporter claimed that Vance had suggested the only reason Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t choose Pennsylvania Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro to be her running mate was because he is Jewish. Vance sounded off on the question, claiming the MSNBC reporter was spouting “DNC talking points.”
“You have repeatedly suggested that the only reason that Kamala Harris didn’t pick Josh Shapiro to be her running mate is because of his Jewish faith. Do you have any evidence to support that assertion that a person who is married to a Jewish man is somehow antisemitic or bowing to antisemites?” Vance was asked while taking questions from the press.
Vance decisively shot down the remark, urging the reporter to “ask a real question.” He said, “Well, I reject the premise of the question. I did not say that that was the only reason that Kamala Harris didn’t choose Josh Shapiro, so you should take a little less DNC talking points when you ask your questions and ask a real question.”
“I have suggested that Kamala Harris was motivated, or at least her party, was motivated by antisemitism, and the evidence that I offer for that is what dozens of Democratic activists said in the run-up to her selecting her nominee,” Vance added, “There were multiple grassroots activists, multiple media personalities, multiple people with influence in the Democratic Party who suggested that she should not choose Josh Shapiro because of his ethnic background.”
