The Trump-Vance campaign recently released a scathing critique of the liberal news network CNN, claiming it operates as an extension of the Harris-Walz campaign. The news network recently released a report that a tech startup that JD Vance had previously invested in and served on the board faced a worker’s rights abuse accusation.
However, the Republican vice presidential candidate noted that he was not involved in the tech startup, AppHarvest, having left the company and its board in 2021, before reports began to surface of the conditions at the company. After CNN recently released the critical report of the company Vance was once involved with, the Trump campaign put out a statement denouncing the story as a smear campaign.
“This is twice in one week where CNN has blatantly ignored its own reporting in an attempt to smear JD Vance,” Team Vance National Press Director, Taylor Van Kirk, said. “The American people know that CNN only operates as an arm of Kamala’s campaign and peddles garbage meant to mislead.”
As of recently, Vance has consistently made headlines for his confidence and professionalism when navigating hostile interviews with left-leaning networks, where he faces attacks against him and former President Donald Trump. The American Tribune reported on a recent interview between Vance and CNN host Dana Bash, in which the Ohio senator turned the tables on the discussion.
The discussion pivoted to the controversy surrounding accusations that Haitian migrants are eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio, which has dealt with the massive influx of approximately 20,000 migrants over the past several years. Vance defended claims made by the Trump-Vance campaign while they have been accused of inciting violence.
“Dana, first of all, let me just respond to a couple things that,” Vance began during his appearance on CNN. “You said, but I want to start with something you said, which I think is, frankly, disgusting and is more appropriate for a democratic propagandist than it is for an American journalist,” he added, questioning CNN’s journalistic integrity.
Vance maintained, “There is nothing that I have said that has led to threats against these hospitals, these hospitals, the bomb threats and so forth. It’s disgusting. The violence is disgusting. We condemn it. We condemn all violence. However, Bash interrupted him to state, “Senator, this happened after you and President Trump on the debate stage said cats and dogs were being eaten.”
Vance continued, “What we have said is that this town has suffered terribly under the problem under the policies of Kamala Harris.” Trump’s running mate emphasized that he is only advocating for the interests of his constituents. “Now you just accused me of inciting violence against the community, when all that I’ve done is surface the complaints of my constituents, people who are suffering because of Kamala Harris’s policies,” he said.
“That is when Kamala Harris waved a magic amnesty wand, taking people and giving them legal status. That is not a that is not to say that they’re here legally. That is a terrible indictment of her amnesty policies that have further opened the legal migration,” Vance said. Watch Vance and Bash below:
