Vice President Kamala Harris was recently hit with a major lawsuit from prominent conservative podcaster Tim Pool. According to Pool, the Harris campaign has “put a target” on his back and filed a lawsuit this Thursday claiming he has been defamed. Furthermore, Pool claims he has received a notable increase in death threats and suspicious activity around his business.
The lawsuit focuses on a post shared to X by the Kamala HQ account in late August that attempted to link Trump to Project 2025 and claimed he would abuse his authority in an authoritarian manner if he wins the upcoming election. “Trump operatives say their Project 2025 plan is to give Trump total, unchecked legal power so they can jail and execute those who don’t support Trump if he wins (They have since scrubbed this video from YouTube),” the post said.
In the video, Pool called for Democrats to face legal punishment if they have been convicted of crimes, emphasizing that they should undergo a fair legal process to evaluate their crimes. However, after the Kamala Harris campaign shared the clip, Pool explained the hostility he has faced. “It’s putting a target on my back for things I don’t believe and things I actually argue against,” the podcaster said.
Criticizing the misleading nature of the post, Pool outlined how the Harris campaign sensationalized his claims. “I didn’t specifically say ‘political opponents,’ it said ‘those who don’t support him,’ as if to imply your run-of-the-mill voter who says, ‘I don’t support Trump,’ may face extrajudicial execution by some kind of psychotic dictatorial regime,” he said. “It’s an absurdity, it’s insane.”
“One of the top presidential campaigns claims that a top global podcast, prominent political show is calling for run-of-the-mill voters who don’t support Trump to be executed should he win,” he said, further describing the absurd suggestion from Kamala Harris.
Furthermore, the negative attention from the Harris campaign also seems to have provoked suspicious and sometimes violent activity around his business locations. “Within a few days of this post going up, a strange man started lurking around one of my properties, our old studio location where we no longer operate out of,” he said. “This individual apparently got into a fight, injuring one of our employees,” he added.
“I have absolutely seen an uptick in” messages on social media “some insinuating to the effect of wanting me to die or intending to have me die.” Pool further claimed he now gets death threats on a regular basis due to his notoriety among liberals. “But after this tweet goes out, I certainly noticed a dramatic increase in messages.” Pool claimed that he used to receive threats “once or twice a month,” however that figure is now “in the hundreds.”
Pool noted that in light of the Harris campaign having spent considerable time researching the clip they shared, they must have also discovered comments from the podcaster maintaining that he opposes the death penalty. “They state that it had since been scrubbed by YouTube, which would indicate they did some looking into what the show actually was,” he said.
