Scott Stapp of the famous rock band Creed recently delivered a pro-Bill of Rights, Christian-centered speech in between songs at a recent concert. Creed burst onto the rock scene in the early 2000s, enjoying massive success. The band has recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, selling out its current nationwide tour.
Creed has been praised over the years for its faith-based undertones in its music. Stapp has also been highly outspoken regarding his Christian faith, which he emphasized during his mid-concert monologue. As the band paused between songs, Stapp encouraged the crowd to “wake up” and see what was truly important in life.
Speaking about the polarization and hatred dividing Americans, Stapp said, “But that’s exactly what the powers that be. That’s what they want. They want us divided. They want us separate. They want us to polarize in our own little niches, in our own little groups, thinking we’re right, they’re wrong. Invigorating. You know why? To keep us distracted from holding them accountable.”
According to the singer, when society is polarized and marred by constant infighting, it makes it easier for the powers that be to control the general public. “They start dividing us and programming us. They teach us about how to be good slaves to authority, about how to do this and do that and think this way and think that way, all conforming us into this divided group of assets and pause,” he sad.
Continuing on this theme, he emphasized the dire situation that Americans face, where God-given rights have fallen by the wayside. “It’s divide and conquer. We say we’re doing it everywhere else, but it’s happening every other country of doing we’re doing right here. Your civil rights are being violated every single minute of every single day.”
“Focus on what divides us, and we argue about this, and we argue about that and we’re keyboard warriors, and we go to our entertainment and become perfect little citizens that go buy the latest trends everything to keep us distracted from what’s happening right in front of our eyes,” he added, highlighting the consequences of consumerism.
However, Stapp offered hope that citizens can wake up and focus on unity and good. “The only way to make change is to wake up and come together as a lot focus on what we have in common, which is life, freedom, love, happiness. We put it on common ground. We prepare and as we’re building that common ground, we stop keeping the powers that be accountable,” he stated.
Stapp also emphasized the undeniable Christian roots that the country was founded on. “We start reminding them of what our Constitution says. We start reminding them what our Bill Of Rights says. We remind them that we are a Constitutional Republic built upon the Bible and the word of God and NOT a democracy,” he said.
The singer concluded his powerful monologue, stating, “I want us to come together as one and enjoy this next song, my friends, and realize that it’s not a fantasy. It’s not a fantasy that we all wake up and take back the power that was rightfully given us, rightfully given to us, it’s our birthright.” Watch the Creed frontman open the eyes of his audience below:
