Store owners across America are sick and tired of having to sit by and watch as their stores are looted or robbed by criminals that law enforcement officers do nothing to restrain or arrest. Whether the ravages of a locust-like flash mob or the slow but steady losses of constant shoplifting, America’s stores are struggling under the burden of high crime and limited law enforcement.
But some store owners are fighting back, particularly in red states. Such is what could be seen in Orlando back in October when a collection of criminals confused Florida for California and caught bullets instead of an easy attempt at theft.
Watch a store owner that responded with lead to the attempts of the criminals to rob him here:
As the store owner put it when asked if the criminals had gotten away with anything “I don’t know if they got anything. One of them got a bullet, though.”
Discussing the incident, police said, in an email to Fox 35 News, “The store owner shot at the suspects. One suspect was found deceased on scene. The three other suspects fled in a vehicle that was later found at a nearby location.” So they did in fact, get bullets rather than stolen goods.
Dave Puglisi, a Fox35 personality, posted about the robbery attempt and resulting shooting on Twitter, saying:
OPD say two people are dead after a smash and grab attempt at the Magic Mall. The jewelry store owner opened fire on the suspects. Two other suspects fled. It’s unclear if they were found. More on

Second scene just a block from the Magic Mall is where another suspect was found shot. OPD says three of the four suspects fled in a car. Two suspects are dead. It’s unknown if the other two are in custody.

I’ve continued to follow up with OPD on the other two suspects involved in this. They are still on the loose. At this time, OPD is asking the public for help. If you saw anything that day that could help lead to their capture you are asked to contact OPD. You can be anonymous.
And the “one of them got a bullet” gunslinger of a store owner wasn’t the only Magic Mall store owner to talk about greeting crime with gunpowder and lead rather than soft on crime policies and understanding. Another store owner, for example, said “There’s a lot of concealed license carriers here. So if you come to the Magic Mall and you want to commit a crime, there’s a really good chance you’re gonna get shot.”
Another guy, Johnny Jordan, Johnny Jordan, who lives next door to where the incident occurred, agreed with that sentiment, saying, when referring to the criminals getting shot eventually, “Sooner or later, they’re gonna get them.”
Louder with Crowder did a great job describing what criminals in Florida need to have learned from the incident, saying:
They tried to warn you. Florida officials have been very clear about this. Governor DeSantis has said in press conferences that Florida is a “second amendment state.” Sheriff after sheriff after sheriff has warned would-be nogoodniks that Florida residents are armed and the sheriffs have their back. Yet, a group of hooligans attempted a smash-and-grab at a jewelry store anyway.
