Footage from an epic incident in the summer of 2024, one in which now-VP Vance called out the mainstream media for not sufficiently questioning Vice President Kamala Harris, blew up on social media, as commenters online loved seeing JD obliterate the media for its utter hypocrisy.
In the clip, now-President Trump’s running mate maintained that the press has to do a “better job” at compelling the vice president to take substantive questions. “I think that you guys have got to do a better job at actually forcing Kamala Harris to answer questions. This is a person who’s been the presumptive Democrat nominee for 16 days. She hasn’t taken a single real question from a reporter,” he said.
Continuing, Vance emphasized that the American public has the right to know what Harris stands for, given the prospect that she might lead the nation. “The American people deserve to get to know the people who want to lead them, and I think it’s shameful for Kamala Harris, but increasingly for the media that she’s taking a basement strategy of running from reporters instead of getting in front of them, answering tough questions about her record and letting the American people know who she is,” he continued.
In contrast to Harris, Vance pointed out that he and former President Trump routinely take hard-hitting, challenging questions from all angles. “President Trump and I take hostile questions. We take non-hostile questions, we get out there and talk to people because we respect the American people enough to want to persuade them and not to try to run from them. So I think you guys got to do a better job. That’s my humble opinion,” he added.
Social media users commented underneath the video, expressing agreement with Vance that Kamala Harris needs to be more open with the press. “JD’s right. The America media have a civil duty to inform the public on who and what they are voting for. It’s a dereliction of duty. Most Americans are not Far-Left so don’t dupe them into voting for a very radical Far-Left ticket. Bernie Saunders and Jeremy Corbyn on steroids!” one commenter wrote.
“@JDVance right They are just copying and pasting what Biden did in 2020 but I hope the American public won’t fall for it. It’s not good enough and disrespectful. Trump/Vance, even if you disagree, are going out in hostile environments answering questions. That’s leadership,” they added in another comment. “Waltz in NOT a “liberal” he, like the Harris is a out and out Marxist in his policies and will drive the country further into a communist-style dictatorship. Stress to people what that means,” another added.
“Exactly. Now with the media really covering up just how Marxist the Democrats have come. Do not fooled Americans. Turn off your cable news because they all lies.
