The famous rockstar Jon Bon Jovi recently saved a woman who appeared to be preparing to jump off a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee, while he was reportedly shooting a music video. Following his noble actions to save the woman’s life, Bon Jovi, whose real name is Jonathan Francis Bongiovi Jr., has received an outpouring of praise on social media.
Footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows a woman in blue, who is reportedly 62 years old, standing outside the railing on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge on Tuesday evening. Bon Jovi, who was initially a good distance away with his team, sees what is about to unfold and slowly approaches the woman.
As not to alarm the individual, Bon Jovi casually walks closer along with another bystander who appears to have already been engaged in conversation with the presumptively suicidal woman. The “Living on a Prayer” singer moves in closer and leans over the railing, where he and the bystander continue to engage with the troubled woman.
Finally, Bon Jovi and the other brave bystander embrace the woman lovingly before pulling her over the railing to safety. Once secured on the other side of the railing, Bon Jovi continues to hug and console the individual before everyone walks away together. Bon Jovi’s selfless actions were honorable and worthy of applause as other citizens in the footage continued walking by the scene, ignoring the crisis at hand.
The Metro Nashville Police Department praised the artist for his bravery, writing, “A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.” Chief John Drake said, “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
“There’s so much taking place in this video. How did some people walk by without doing anything?! Who is that photographer! Most importantly what a mitzvah by JBJ,” one person on X wrote. “This moved me to tears. In a time of such division and hardship, I can truly feel the love in his actions. Well done, @jonbonjovi. A beautiful example of empathy and kindness,” another said.
Conservative commentator Collin Rugg shared the footage, writing, “Singer Jon Bon Jovi saves a woman from jumping off a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee while filming a music video. Good man. Bon Jovi was seen approaching a 62-year-old woman on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. The musician leaned over the railing before hoisting the woman to safety and embracing her.”

It further reads, “It is the organization’s goal to recognize and maximize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty, and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs.”
