Actress Drea de Matteo, the star famous for her role as Adriana on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” the girlfriend of Christopher, recently spoke to Fox News and argued in support of former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., saying that she is all in support of Mr. Kennedy’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Explaining to host Jesse Watters why she supports Mr. Kennedy’s move toward Trump and decision to fully back him, joining up with the Trump campaign in an effort to keep the current Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, out of office and so unable to implement radical policies such as a 25% unrealized capital gains tax.
Commenting on that issue, de Matteo said that what she is trying to do is fight for America and wake up other people with liberal views to what the Democratic Party really is. She said, “At the very moment, all I care about is fighting for this country and just trying to wake up a few more of my fellow liberals to get back to the center of things and recognize that the things they always fought for — all of that weaponization on the left — is camouflage.”
Continuing, de Matteo next noted that the modern left’s interest in exotic social issues rather than things that really matter to struggling American families is a big problem, telling Fox News, “They’re fighting for social issues that really don’t matter when you look at the big picture of what’s really happening behind the scenes.”
Elaborating on that criticism of the modern left, de Matteo explained that she sees the social issues about which the Democrats are worried as being irrelevant in comparison to the real issues destroying the country. She said, “The social issues are irrelevant right now, honestly. This country is falling apart right now and the rest of the world will follow it.”
Then, after noting that she supports Mr. Kennedy and criticizing Ben Stiller for backing Kamala Harris, she questioned how much leftists are paying actors to support the Biden-Harris Administration, saying, “I wonder how much these actors got paid to endorse Biden at this point. I’m curious. I wonder if De Niro got paid a locations fee, because he had to travel to the courtroom to do that.”
Watters then chimed in and asked her if actors really are paid to support leftists. He asked, “Is that how that works? Do you guys get paid?” He elaborated, adding, “I mean, can you just maybe not give them cash like Bob Menedez or slip them a gold bar, but can you just kinda make it like a silent deal like, ‘Oh, we’ll give you this next role or you know we’ll get you a book deal.’ Is it something like that, or an appearance fee?”
De Matteo told him that she doesn’t know about how that works because she’s not really one who maneuvers in the industry, which wasn’t supportive of the Sopranos stars. She said, “I don’t know. I don’t really maneuver inside that industry. I never have. First of all, Sopranos, we were the outcast, even though we were critically acclaimed, we still were outcasts.”
She then added that, as an outcast, she not only doesn’t know how the pay-for-support aspect of the industry works, but is willing to vocally support Kennedy and Trump, something for which she joked that the entertainment industry would attempt to treat her as the mafia she portrayed might. As she put it, “So, I’m still an outcast, here I am. They’re going to take me out into the woods and shoot me for not endorsing Biden.”
