Former President Donald Trump visited Arlington National Cemetary on the third anniversary of the Kabul airport suicide bombing that killed 13 American servicemembers during the disastrous 2021 withdrawal from the country. However, instead of being praised for drawing attention to the tragedy and comforting the families, Trump was attacked by the mainstream media for the visit.
In fact, NPR even reported that two members of the Trump campaign team “had a verbal and physical altercation … with an official at Arlington National Cemetery” when the former president showed up at the cemetery at the invitation of family members of fallen servicemembers and attended a wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen soldiers.
Former President Donald Trump didn’t pull any punches when responding to the crazy story and claim, saying that the alleged incident hadn’t occurred and was entirely made up by the Kamala campaign. He said, “There was no conflict or “fighting” at Arlington National Cemetery last week. It was a made up story by Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad.”
Continuing, he alleged that Vice President Harris made up the story so that she could help cover up the Biden-Harris Administration’s responsibility for the disastrous withdrawal and tragic deaths. He said, “She made it all up to make up for the fact that she and Sleepy Joe have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS for the INCOMPETENT AFGHANISTAN Withdrawal – THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY!!!”
He then called out Biden and Harris for staying away from Arlington despite being the ones in charge when the disaster happened, saying, “They should have been at Arlington, not on a beach or studying for a Debate. Thank you to my friends, the GREAT GOLD STAR FAMILIES, for revealing the TRUTH OF A BEAUTIFUL DAY OF HONOR. Could not have been a nicer moment.”
Concluding, he again said that the story about his campaign team getting in a fight with staff members at Arlington was an utterly made up, entirely untrue story that only the radicals think is true. He said, on that note, “And there were no fights or problems, only in the heads of those that are destroying our Country! MAGA2024″
Also contesting the story was Trump Campaign spokesman Steven Cheung. He told NPR, in a statement about the story, “The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony.”
Watch Trump at the ceremony here:
One of the Gold Star moms at the ceremony, Kelly Barnett, told Fox News that Biden had been invited to and informed of the ceremony, saying, “I didn’t invite her personally or him personally. Governor Cox of Utah sent [Biden] a letter, letting him know the celebration that we were having, the ceremony that we were having, [and] told him that it would be good for him to be there.”
She added, noting that Team Biden was told about the ceremony by Arlington and still declined to show up, “Also, Arlington Cemetery let them know of the ceremony, so they … went without any kind of response from either one. So, they were aware of the ceremony. They knew that it would be in their best interest to be there, and they refused to attend.”
