Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes, sounded off on “haters” in a recent social media post. The backlash followed Mahomes liking a post from former President Donald Trump that detailed the “2024 GOP platform” earlier this month. Reportedly, Taylor Swift fans were the “haters” in question who criticized her.
Brittany wrote in a social media post on Friday, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s not reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
The popular football-themed social media account “ML Football” posted the news on X, suggesting fans of Taylor Swift were the culprits. The post read, “Patrick Mahomes wife Brittany has issued a statement after many Taylor Swift fans went after her for supporting former President Donald Trump. “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from your childhood.”
Subsequently, users praised Mahomes for standing firm in her values, refusing to cave to the backlash. “Good for her for standing her ground. Also, sheds light on the oh so typical “tolerant left” we hear about. Ripping the right for not thinking the same as them,” one person said. Another speculated, “Mahomes is a Trump supporter 100%.”
“Good for her, no one should be afraid or bullied into saying, believing or voting a certain way. The 1st amendment is there for a reason,” one person commented, applauding her strength and bravery. “Patrick is absolutely right here. And besides, he also should know that Tayler is the reason why Kansas City went back to back last year. That you can thank the NFL for, and the people who collaborated to make that happen that didn’t play for Kansas City,” she said.
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Kansas City Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who defended his teammate, Harrison Butker, amid the backlash for his Christian, conservative comments. Butker sparked a firestorm of controversy from the left after his remarks at the Benedictine College commencement speech earlier this year.
Patrick Mahomes said, “That’s someone who cares about the people around him, cares about his family, and wants to make a good impact in society. When you’re in the locker room, there’s a lot of people from a lot of different areas of life, and they have a lot of different views on everything, and we’re not always gonna agree.”
Mahomes added, “There are certain things that he said that I don’t necessarily agree with, but I understand the person that he is, and he’s trying to do whatever he can to lead people in the right direction,” he added. “It might not be the same values as I have, but at the same time, I’m gonna judge him by the character that he shows every single day, and that’s a great person.”
