Former President Donald Trump recently sat down with popular online streamer Adin Ross. The two discussed the Republican presidential candidate’s recent appearance at the National Association for Black Journalists and Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump called out Harris, claiming she could not sit down and answer hard-hitting questions in interviews.
Ross brought up the NABJ conference Trump recently spoke at, asking, “You were speaking on stage with three other women, and you just got ambushed. They were late and not a hi, hello. How are you just straight into it, straight trying to rip you apart? I think you handled it pretty well, but I wanted to ask you a question, like, Why do you think? Like, they just straight up do that for you, but then they’re going to ask the other side, oh, what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?”
Trump mentioned that he showed up to the event with the best intentions but was met with a hostile journalist who displayed unwelcoming, hostile behavior toward the former President. “And I did it because I thought it was a good thing to do. And they had a journalist, I don’t know, I didn’t know who she was, nasty, terrible person,” he said.
Calling out Vice President Harris for not being at the event, Trump continued, “They also said Kamela is going to do it … she can’t talk to people, she can’t answer questions. She hasn’t done one interview. She’s not doing any interviews, because she if she did one interview where hard questions asked, she’s incapable of answering.”
The former president further highlighted how poorly he was treated upon arriving at the conference. “But I walk in and this woman starts talking about, she talked about, we have, let’s get rid of the elephant in the room. And she starts talking about racism. I said, You didn’t even say hello to me. And I’m doing them a favor by doing this. I’m doing this out of respect to the black community. And we’re getting record numbers, as you know, the black community.”
Trump took a shot at ABC News, the network the journalist was supposedly with. “And she came across, you know, she’s with ABC, fake news, one of the worst. ABC is one of the worst, right? And she is horrible. So she was very nasty, and Harris Faulkner was there. She was excellent. The other person, I didn’t know she was okay. I wouldn’t say she was great, okay, but I did it, and it was quite a sensation. I see a lot of people think it was well handled. The woman was so rude that, you know, it’s hard to believe you can walk into a thing. I do them a favor, and I do this. Most people said, Why are you doing it? I feel I have an obligation,” he said.
Trump concluded his remarks by pointing out that he feels called to represent the entire nation, explaining his motivations to speak to such a wide variety of demographics. He suggested that Harris is failing to live up to this standard since she isn’t giving any interviews, leading Trump to warn that the nation is in “big trouble.” Watch the interview between Trump and Ross below:
“You become the president for all of the people, for a certain segment, not even for just my you know, they talk about my base at a pretty big base, but you become president for all of the people. So I feel you have an obligation to do that. Now. She’s not doing anything. She’s not doing any interviews, because I don’t believe she’s capable. It’s strange. The whole thing is strange. Let’s put it this way. Our country’s in big trouble,” Trump said.
