Since Vice President Kamala Harris has stepped up as the presumptive Democratic Party nominee in light of President Joe Biden withdrawing from the 2024 race, the Trump campaign has released a series of damning ads that highlight the radical nature of Harris’ political leanings. The clip opens with the text flashing across the screen, “Meet San Francisco Radical Kamala Harris.”
Former President Donald Trump and other conservative critics have drawn attention to Vice President Harris’ past statements that demonstrated a radical progressive stance toward numerous issues plaguing American society, such as the ongoing border crisis that the Biden-Harris administration has failed to mitigate, anti-fossil fuel rhetoric surrounding the Green New Deal, and much more.
The clip opened with Harris introducing her pronouns as “she and her” while wearing a mask. The video cut to a clip of Harris addressing claims that she was the most liberal senator. “You’re considered the most liberal United States Senator. Well, actually, the nonpartisan GovTrack has rated you as the most liberal senator,” the reporter said as Harris smiled.
Another clip featured NBC anchor Lester Holt asking Kamala if she was going to visit the border. “Do you have any plans to visit the border?” he asked. Harris answered, “We are going to the border. We’ve been to the border.” However, Holt fired back,” You haven’t been to the border.” Harris replied, “And I haven’t been to Europe.”
Harris has also indicated that she believes the United States should not consider crossing the border unlawfully a crime. “I am in favor of saying that we’re not going to treat people who are undocumented across borders criminal. That’s correct. That is correct,” she said. Many have particularly criticized this remark amid the massive scale of illegal immigration that has occurred under the Biden-Harris administration.
Furthermore, Harris has indicated that she would be open to “starting from scratch” with ICE. “One of the signs at the rally you just held people standing there saying, abolish ICE. Is that a position that you agree with?” A reporter asked. Harris responded, “We need to probably think about starting from scratch.” A reporter asked in another interview, “So do you support giving universal health care, Medicare for all people who are in this country illegally?” Harris said, I am opposed to any policy that would deny in our country any human being public health period.”
“Are you for defunding the police?” Harris was asked in another part of the ad. She answered, “How are you defining defund the police. In another clip Harris seemingly indicated that increasing law enforcement would not be an effective measure to combat crime. “It’s actually wrong and backward, to think that more police officers will create more safety,” she said.

Harris further suggested that she would be open to having a “conversation” about allowing death row inmates, such as the Boston Bomber, to vote in elections. “Convicted in prison, like the Boston Marathon bomber on death row, people who are convicted of sexual assault, they should be able to vote?” Don Lemon asked. Harris said, “I think we should have that conversation.”
