In a shocking and horrifying recent segment, MSNBC host and personality Joy Reid suggested that former President Donald Trump does not appear to have a close or even particularly loving relationship with his grandchildren, a ridiculous assertion given Kai Trump’s speech at the RNC. Reid’s sick comments came on Wednesday, July 24.
As background, Kai said, during her speech. “I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t often see.” She continued, “To me, he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school. When I made the High Honor Roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me.”
Further, speaking about the horrible assassination attempt, she said, “On Saturday, I was shocked when I heard he had been shot, and I just wanted to know if he was okay. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to another person. A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing. Grandpa, you are such an inspiration, and I love you.”
Reid, in any case, said that Trump’s interactions with his grandkids are “cold” and “clinical,” saying, “Donald Trump has grandkids too, but the physical interactions that they had at the convention felt so cold and sort of clinical. It didn’t feel real. You really don’t see Melania.”
Continuing, Reid spoke about Dr. Jill’s relationship with Joe Biden, saying, “This had to be a commitment for life, or I wasn’t going to do it.'” She added, speaking about the Biden family, “That is the kind of couple they are. Even just reading the pool note and the closeness of this family, it is another contrast with the other family that’s on the table.” She added. “It’s just a difference; all families are different.”

Also indicating that Trump has a warm relationship with his family was Barron Trump, who, speaking with Jesse Watters, Patrick Bet-David, and others, saying that his dad, hilariously, acts like a DJ in the Mar-a-Lago estate. The American Tribune, reporting on that, noted:
During a recent podcast hosted by Fox News host Jesse Watters, Patrick Bet-David, Adam Sosnick, Tom Ellsworth, and Vincent Oshana recounted a discussion with Barron about the domestic dynamic of the Trump family, which is often kept away from the public eye.
The Valuetainment team had been invited to Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where they shared a meal with Barron when they were interrupted by loud music. “[We were in the middle of talking] and all of a sudden music comes on so loud,” one of the hosts stated. “We asked what it was and Barron said, ‘my dad’s the freakin’ DJ [in this house]’.
The host continued, illustrating the presumptive GOP presidential nominee being captivated by his iPad and demonstrating his musical prowess. However, Barron complained that the volume of his father’s DJing can sometimes be overbearing. “All you see is the president on his iPad, the lights on his face… Barron’s like, ‘I’ll be in my room and the house is shaking. My dad plays the music so loud,'” he said.
