During the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Madeleine Brame of New York delivered remarks criticizing the Democratic Party, which she feels has “betrayed” and “abandoned” the country. Brame discussed her veteran son, Afghanistan veteran Army Sgt. Hason Correa, who was killed by criminals in New York City.
The mother of the slain veteran turned criminal justice reform advocate blasted Democrats, such as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, for their policies on crime, which many Americans have criticized for contributing to criminality. Brame particularly criticized the Democratic Party for abandoning the interests of minority communities.
Brame began her remarks, “My son, Sergeant Hason Correa an Afghanistan War retired veteran, he received enemy fire from the Taliban only to be murdered with a knife on the streets of New York City. The four assailants responsible for his death initially were facing justice, but that changed when District Attorney Alvin Bragg was elected.”
She continued, “Suddenly, two of the homicidal maniacs responsible for my son’s death had their gang assault and murder charges completely dismissed. One of them received 14 months time served. Alvin Bragg charged her with assault, with a shoot, and another one was sentenced to seven years.” The mother of the deceased veteran added, “I later learned, Alvin Bragg often dismisses and reduces dangerous criminals. He wants to clear the jails and return violent felons onto our streets every day.”
Brame explained what motivated her to get involved in political activism, stating, “The injustice was devastating for me and my family. I don’t want anyone else to experience the senseless pain that many other victims across this United States of America have to live with every day. So I decided to use the voice that God gave me to be the voice for the voiceless across America.”
The criminal justice reform activist further slammed progressive prosecutors across the country. “We need justice for victims and we need accountability for prosecutors who fail in their duty, soft non crime, prosecutors like Alvin Bragg in New York, Ken Fox in Chicago and George Gascon in Los Angeles, turned our great country and cities into war zones,” she said.
“Poor in neglected communities like mine are suffering, and who else in Here is sick and tired of being sick and tired of the Democratic Party that poor minorities have been loyal to for decades, including myself. All right, they portrayed us. They stabbed us in the back,” Brame said, blasting liberal politicians for not living up to their promises for minority communities.
Brame directly called out the current administration which she asserted had “abandoned us,” illustrating that minority voters are waking up to the realities of the Democratic Party. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who claim to represent us, have abandoned us. They neglected the four minority communities across America, but mine, eyes have been open, just like so many of them, poor minorities across America,” she added.
Concluding her remarks, Brame voiced her support for former President Donald Trump to lead a second term in the White House. She endorsed the Republican candidate’s policies that focus on improving the lives of every American, such as Trump’s pro-police agenda. Brame asserted, “Let’s make America safe again.” Watch her speech at the RNC below:
