Lunden Roberts, 33, is the mother of five-year-old Navy Joan Roberts, Hunter Biden’s long-unacknowledged daughter. Despite being President Biden’s seventh grandchild, Navy Joan has been entirely excluded from the Biden family, which refused to acknowledge the First Son’s child for the first four years of her life. In recent years, Roberts has broken her silence, speaking out against the Biden’s.
Roberts, an Arkansas native, is believed to have initially met Hunter Biden while working at a Washington, D.C. gentleman’s club while she was in graduate school at George Washington University. She would eventually work for Hunter’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca, serving as his executive assistant. From there, Navy Joan Roberts was born in August 2018, according to reports.
Following the birth of Hunter’s fourth child, Roberts successfully sued Biden for paternal support, which was approved by a court in 2020. Now, the estranged mother of Hunter’s child is publishing a book titled, “Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden,” describing her experiences over the past half-decade of exclusion and abandonment from the Biden family.
“She was like, ’oh, so [Biden is] out helping all these other people. But when he’s done helping them, he’ll come see me. Right?’ And it’s like, ‘someday.’ You have that hope. And the hope is throughout the book. You see that hope,” Roberts said, speaking to the Daily Caller.
“She knows my dad is her Pappy, and she knows the man on the TV we are cheering for to win is her other grandpa. She doesn’t understand how that works, or why one grandfather wants to see her nonstop, while the other has never once seen her,” she further outlined in her book, describing the unconventional dynamic between her and Biden. “But just like her dad, Navy is quick to love, and even though she’s never met her grandfather on the TV, she adores him from a distance,” she added.
Roberts further illustrated that she is finally speaking out, sharing her side of the story, where she feels betrayed by President Biden, who often presents as a devout Catholic that prioritizes American family values. “I’m at that point where enough is enough, and this is, you know, me owning that and coming out of the shadows,” she said.
However, she claimed that Hunter does occasionally speak to his daughter via video calls. “Like I said, there’s always that redemption. I want what my daughter wants. And, you know, seeing her face light up on the first zoom call with [Hunter], or every time, you know, she gets to speak to him. A daughter yearns for a father’s love. And she does. And, that’s something that I never want to take away from her,” she explained.
Ultimately, Roberts believes that Navy Joan is just as much a part of the Biden family as any other of the president’s grandchildren, demanding an explanation as to why Hunter’s daughter is not included. “What’s the defense against that? You’re a man that stands on family values, and you have a little girl that is your granddaughter,” she said.
