As social decorum continues to deteriorate throughout Western society, large-scale brawls in public spaces seem to be occurring with increased frequency. Demonstrating this phenomenon, a massive fight between multiple people was recently captured on video during a Carnival Cruise, leaving onlooking passengers in shock as security and staff panicked to mitigate the situation.
Nick Richardson was a guest on a cruise that stopped in the South American destinations Honduras and Cozumel, Mexico. Richardson captured a six-and-a-half-minute video of the incident as he was innocently searching for a slice of pizza. At the same time, a group of women incessantly beat each other, hurling furniture across the dining room.
“It’s my first time seeing [something] like that,” one woman told Richardson. “Is it really? Welcome to America… This is how it is in America, man. Look at this sh*t,” he replied. Several other passengers could be seen around the perimeter of the brawl, recording the incident in sheer amazement as just Richardson was doing.
Another man could be seen jumping into the violent conflict as things continued to escalate. “They’re hitting my damn mama, bro… that’s why I got in there… I ain’t going to hit no woman, but I’ll push their ass because she was on my mama,” one person explained. Several times throughout the altercation, which Richardson was commenting on at a distance, he reaffirmed his quest for a late-night slice of pizza as chaos erupted all around him. “Can I just get a slice of pizza before I go to bed?” he asked.
Staff members could be seen frantically trying to navigate the altercation between the disgruntled passengers. Toward the end of the footage, as the fight appears to be fizzling out, Nick says, “Let’s have a blessed night, everybody. Let’s get some pizza!” The aftermath left broken dishes and furniture strewn about the dining room.
Following his video documentation of the Carnival chaos, Richardson spoke to the New York Post about the experience, where he was trying to enjoy a relaxing vacation with his family and children. “This is just what happens at 3 in the morning when you got a bunch of drunk girls from Tampa,” Richardson told the outlet, illustrating the problematic marriage of Floridians and excessive alcohol consumption.
Richardson noted that the onset of the brawl was apparent, while emphasizing the role of alcohol in the violent confrontation. “I’m like, ‘It’s definitely gonna go down.’ It’s why I got it on video,” he added. “Those girls were already set on what they were gonna do. It just got out of hand very, very quickly. And that’s how it happens. You’re just drinking too much.” Watch the incident he captured on film below:
Reportedly, the individuals involved in the incident received fines and were banned from traveling with Carnival in the future. However, Richardson maintains that the experience will not deter him from going on future cruises. He said, “The entirety of the cruise everybody was friendly with each other, everybody was enjoying themselves. The Carnival made sure everyone was having a fantastic time.” “I don’t knock this fight as a reason why I wouldn’t go back on Carnival. I already booked another one for this spring with my family.”
