In the aftermath of Biden’s failed debate performance last week, many in the Democratic Party, and especially within Biden’s circle, have sought to figure out who is responsible for the abysmal showing that confirmed many Americans’ concerns about the president’s cognitive state. Fox News Channel personality Laura Ingraham recently published an op-ed, providing insight into the Biden family amid the president’s insistence that he is fit to serve.
Reportedly, the Biden family has been highly critical of Biden’s senior aides, blaming them for the debacle that unfolded on the debate stage. A recent article from Politico suggested that everything from Biden’s seeming inability to go on the offensive against Trump, his focus on defending his presidential record, and his general tiredness and elderly appearance are the fault of his aides.
However, in Ingraham’s piece titled “The Bidens are selfish, mean grifters to the end,” she explains that Biden’s very own family should be held accountable for the disaster the campaign is currently facing. The host argued that, in reality, the Biden family is a significant detractor to the president, and they are looking to shift the blame to anybody but themselves.
She wrote, “Blaming Biden’s staff—and these are long-time aides—for the president’s disastrous performance in Atlanta is despicable. If anyone is to blame beyond the candidate himself, it is Biden’s own family. They have always been one of his biggest political liabilities, and now that same family is running to Politico to blame the very people who have devoted their lives to keeping the family rich and powerful.”
Ingraham’s ultimate point was that the Bidens only have loyalty to themselves, not even to the United States or the Democratic Party. She further cited commentary from Politico suggesting that First Lady Jill Biden and First Son Hunter were the “loudest voiced,” calling on the president to continue pursuing his reelection bid against former President Trump. Furthermore, Ingraham concluded that members of the Biden family “look down on everyone else” amid their incessant pursuit of power, disregarding their staff, party, and country.
The American Tribune reported on other skepticism toward First Lady Jill Biden, where people increasingly believe she is a significant force keeping President Biden in the race, when he should step aside and allow a more viable candidate to take his place. Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman recently posted a message on X, no longer blaming Joe Biden for his refusal to step down.
Ackman claimed, “I no longer blame @POTUS Biden for not stepping aside. He no longer has the mental acuity to make important judgments about himself. It is becoming increasingly clear however that the fault lies with @FLOTUS Jill Biden. FL Jill Biden becomes irrelevant the moment her husband is no longer president. No more Air Force One. No more glamorous life. No more White House dinners for dignitaries. No more being treated like a queen when traveling the world.”

He added without holding back, “I am sorry to be harsh, but what has become entirely clear is that the First Lady values what is best for herself over her husband’s health and the safety and security of the country at large.” Ahead of the upcoming election, Biden has faced ongoing calls to step down after his debate against Trump.
