As former President Donald Trump narrows in on who will be his Vice President, one who looks most likely at the moment is Governor Dough Burgum of North Dakota. While he has the personality of a damp napkin, he does appear like he will be loyal and, as a more moderate Republican, could win over some of those who are worried about Trump’s MAGA stances. Gov. Burgum did, however, despite his general moderation, call Biden a dictator during a recent interview.
That came when Gov. Burgum appeared on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” on Wednesday, June 19 for an interview and, during the interview, said that the United States under the regime of President Joe Biden is not the sort of constitutional republic that America is supposed to be, but rather is a “dictatorship” with much tyranny.
Gov. Burgum’s comments on the matter came when “The Story” host Martha Maccallum said, “A number of people in the media talking about the possibility of imprisonment for people who disagree with former President Trump, people being put in camps, that the entire system of government would be under collapse pressure under a second Trump term. What would you say to them?”
Responding, Gov. Burgum pointed to what he sees as the ridiculous campaign strategy of the Democrats heading into the November election. Gov. Burgum said, “Well, Martha, I think you know that this is just ridiculous. The Democrats seem to have two strategies. One is, be afraid. And the second strategy is, be even more afraid.”
Continuing, Gov. Burgum alleged that America under President Joe Biden is in a state of dictatorship, saying, “Under Joe Biden, we’re actually living under a dictatorship today, where he’s, you know, bypassing Congress on immigration policies, bypassing Congress on protecting our border, he’s bypassing Congress on a student loan forgiveness, and he’s defying the Supreme Court.”
He then explained what he sees as being the tyranny and generally unAmerican actions of the Biden Administration, saying, “I mean, those are the things that authoritarians and dictators do, is, they don’t follow our democratic processes and they just assert their own liberal view. And that’s what the Biden administration’s doing.”
Concluding, he pointed to Trump’s generally good performance in the polls and the various failures of the Biden Administration, saying, “So what they’re really afraid of as President Trump is ahead in the polls, with all the groups in America on all the issues that matter most to most Americans, whether it’s of the border, inflation, interest rates.”
Watch him here:
Trump, posting recently about the lawfare attacks on him, something that many on the right say is a sign of the tyranny present in America now, wrote, “A big article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, along with virtually every legal scholar and expert, that I DID NOTHING WRONG on the D.A. Alvin Bragg case, it was only because my name is TRUMP that they went after me. A very detailed and interesting read, there was No Crime. Now it has just been announced that Alvin is dropping all charges against the Columbia Protesters, who took over the college, vandalized it, seriously assaulted police officers, and put many lives at risk — A two tiered system of justice!”
