American TV personality Donny Deutsch recently appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where he called upon prominent members of the U.S. military to take a public stand against former President Donald Trump to dissuade Americans from voting for him.
Deutsch brought up unproven allegations against Trump that labeled fallen service members “suckers” and “losers” for dying for their country. He further implied that Trump was a draft dodger who got out of military service for “bunyans.”
“The contrast is everything in this election, and I think the military is the greatest example to show the contrast between two men. You see Donald Trump, who you know, got off, didn’t serve because of Bunyan’s and told, allegedly told John Kelly as Chief of Staff, that why would, as they were in a cemetery looking at fallen heroes. Why would any person be a sucker and give their life for their country? And that’s all you need to learn Donald Trump,” he said.
Deutsch, a prominent figure in the marketing and advertising industry, suggested that an effective ad campaign against Trump would be to feature top-ranking officials from the military community and have them speak out against Trump.
“And I’ve said this before, and I think the most compelling advertising campaign would be centered around the military. If we got Mattis, McMaster, Millie, and Kelly to go to screen and say, Look, this country cannot stand Donald Trump. The defense in this country will not stay on Donald Trump. Americans, we believe in this country. We trust this country, we know this country. You can’t vote. The Donald Trump, I think the military is the street to weapon and selection. I hope those ads come to fruition.”
As the election draws nearer, Trump and his MAGA base are facing increased attacks from the left. The American Tribune reported on comments from New York Democratic congressional candidate Paula Collins, who suggested that MAGA Republicans should undergo a “re-education” process.
“Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and re-educating basically, which, that sounds like a rather, a re-education camp. I don’t think we really want call it that,” she said. “I’m sure we can find another way to phrase it.” Watch Deutsch’s comments below:
In a statement to Fox News, Collins doubled down on her remarks, suggesting that the country requires “widespread civics education,” where there supposedly is bipartisan support for such a political initiative. “We currently have lawmakers, including Rep. Elise Stefanik, who mis-quote or mis-understand the law,” Collins said. “Even if MAGA were to be resoundingly defeated, we would need to engage in widespread civics education, which both red and blue voters acknowledge has been slipping in recent years.” The Democratic challenger added that “the goal would be such that regular citizens could understand the process by which the state courts process matters, compared to the federal court circuit, and so forth.”
