Earlier this week, actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria recently announced they would be launching a new reality TV show called “The Baldwins.” The family made the announcement in a recent Instagram post, featuring their seven children. Reportedly, the show will premiere on TLC in 2025, giving viewers an inside look into the daily lives of the Baldwin family and what its like to be such a large family.
“We have an announcement to make,” Hilaria stated in a video uploaded to Instagram while sitting beside her husband. As if to tease the idea of having an eighth child, there was a record scratch moment, where Alec said, “Good God, no… ” Hilaria responded jokingly, “No, definitely not! We’re done having kids!”
The footage cuts to a compilation of the joyful yet chaotic nature of raising seven young children. The kids can be seen screaming, laughing, running around, fighting, and doing everything else young children do that exhausts their parents.
“Home is the place we love to be most,” Alec said. “We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” he continued. “And we’re coming to TLC!” the father said. “God help you all!” he said with a big smile.
However, Baldwin is still reeling from the aftermath of the 2021 shooting incident that occurred on the set of a movie he was producing. The fatal accident that occurred in New Mexico, claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
A New Mexico judge recently ruled that the actor’s indictment would stand, striking down a motion from Baldwin’s attorneys to dismiss it. Therefore, he is scheduled to go on trial later this summer for charges of involuntary manslaughter.
While on set in 2021, Baldwin was holding a prop Colt .45 revolver that had been loaded with live ammunition, before it went off fatally striking Hutchins. Alec pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, claiming he had no awareness that the gun was loaded.
The American Tribune reported earlier this year on the news that Baldwin would be indicted on the new charge of involuntary manslaughter. Baldwin’s legal team, consisting of Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, succinctly stated, “We look forward to our day in court.”
In a statement about the case, two special prosecutors, Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis, claimed at the time that additional facts merited further examination. “After extensive investigation over the past several months, additional facts have come to light that we believe show Mr. Baldwin has criminal culpability in the death of Halyna Hutchins and the shooting of Joel Souza,” they said.
The special prosecutors added, “We believe the appropriate course of action is to permit a panel of New Mexico citizens to determine from here whether Mr. Baldwin should be held over for criminal trial.” The attorney representing Hutchins’ family, Gloria Allred, explained they are looking forward to determining who will be held accountable. “We are looking forward to the criminal trial which will determine if he should be convicted for the untimely death of Halyna,” the lawyer said.
