Former President Donald Trump has been invited to attend rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s upcoming concert in Miami on June 14, his birthday. According to sources, Trump’s team has been in communications with the concert organizers.
No further details regarding whether Trump will attend the concert are available at this time. Mr. Flame sparked controversy when he publicly expressed support for Trump on social media last year. “TRUMP2024,” the rapper wrote in one post.
Furthermore, Mr. Flame, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, also changed his profile picture on X to a photo of him and Trump posing together. “I’m an not a politician and i don’t wanna talk politics… i only answer to the people that made me and that’s my FANS aka THE PEOPLE… i love y’all with every bone in my body man Squaddd,” he later wrote, addressing the reaction on social media to his pro-Trump posting.
Notably, Malphurs’ latest sentiment toward the GOP frontrunner is a stark contrast compared to his past opinions, where he wrote “F**k Donald J. Trump” only weeks before he declared his bid for candidacy in June 2015.
In 2021, the “No Hands” rapper received a lifetime achievement award from the Trump administration for his philanthropic efforts with the Chicago-based non-profit organization Daughter of Destiny. The non-profit assists women in acquiring basic necessities such as employment, food, housing, community, healthcare, etc.
After receiving the award, the artist expressed gratitude toward the president. “I just want to thank President Trump for recognizing me,” Mr. Flame said. “I wanna thank Bridget and just everyone who love me with enough love back and do everything that I’ve wanted to do that was generous.”
In other Trump-related news, the former president hosted a massive rally in the Bronx this week, which drew as many as 10,000 supporters in the deep blue city. The event featured substantial representation from the black community, highlighting Trump’s growing support among minority voters.
Ahead of the event, The American Tribune reported on speakers who delivered a variety of pro-Trump messaging while encouraging locals to attend the rally. One woman said, “Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid. Stand with me. Fight with me.” She added, “Because I am here for the people. We the people, it is we the people. I am here for the children, the future of our country, for our children. I have grandchildren, I want a better America for our children.”
Another man stated, “We are here today to send New York City a message. We stand with Donald Trump, we love Donald Trump, and we are waiting for Donald Trump to make New York great again.” “We are going to register you to vote,” another speaker told the crowd. “We are going to offer you, if you have a criminal record we will clean and seal your criminal record,” he added.
Acknowledging the support he has received in New York, Trump even suggested that he may “make a play” to flip the state red. “We’re very close in New York I understand and we’re leading in the country by a lot. A poll just came out a little while ago, as you saw yesterday, that we have we’re up in every swing state and up by a lot in every swing state so I think we’ll do very well and we’re gonna make a play for New York,” he said.
