Appearing on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” former President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump argued that the crowd size at Trump’s rallies show that his dad is more popular than famous rock star Bruce Springsteen, a fun comparison that appears largely meant to show Trump’s immense popularity with the average person. That interview with Ingraham came on Monday, May 13.
Eric began by calling out the lawfare campaign being waged against Trump in civil and criminal courts at the state and federal everywhere from New York to Florida, saying, “They wanna take my father down in New York. They wanna do it civilly, they wanna do it criminally, they wanna do it in Georgia, they want to try to do it in Washington, D.C.”
Continuing, he called out what he sees as the “radical prosecutors” behind that lawfare campaign, saying, “They go to the farthest-left areas of this country, they have radical prosecutors all with one thing in common, they’re all funded by Soros, every single one, and they have a damn mission to go after Donald Trump because he’s winning in every single poll.”
As evidence of Trump’s popularity, Eric then pointed to the massive crowd that showed up to see and hear Trump in Wildwood, New Jersey, one which garnered nearly 100,000 attendees. He said, “When you see Wildwood on Saturday, where he has 100,000 people show up. 100,000 people. I mean, Bruce Springsteen can’t pull half of that amount!”
While Eric is right that Trump managed to bring in a huge crowd to Wildwood, he’s not correct that it is bigger than any crowd Springsteen has performed for, as Springsteen has had numerous larger concerts. For example, Springsteen’s concert in East Berlin in 1988 sold 160,000 tickets and perhaps 300,000 people attended, as Mediaite noted in its report on Eric’s comments to Ingraham.

Former President Trump brought up the Springsteen comparison as well, doing so in an aside during the Wildwood rally. He said, “Is there anything better than a Trump rally? . . . These liberal singers, they actually vote for me . . . You know, like Bruce Springsteen. We have a much bigger crowd than Bruce Springsteen. Right?”

Trump, for his part, has attacked the investigations even more vociferously than Eric did. For example, in a recent post about the so-called “hush money” case brought against him by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg on Truth Social, former President Trump said, “Virtually every Legal Analyst and Scholar said yesterday, at the end of the day, THAT THERE IS NO CASE, AND THAT THIS WITCH HUNT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BROUGHT, AND SHOULD BE THROWN OUT NOW!!! WHY WASN’T THIS HOAX BROUGHT SEVEN YEARS AGO, INSTEAD OF IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WINNING CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT — ELECTION INTERFERENCE. The problem is that this Judge, Merchan, is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT, MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME. He can’t render a fair decision, too much is at stake for him and the Democrats. The Appellate Division should remove him immediately!
