Recent footage from the prestigious Ivy League institution, Harvard University, exposes the thoughts some individuals on college campuses have toward Christianity. Content creator and independent journalist Nick Shirley asked two females about their thoughts on Jesus Christ and the implications of the Christian faith on American society.
“America is primarily a Christian country do you think more people need start believing in him and his teachings?” Shirley asked the two young women. Their respective answers drew upon a litany of far-left, progressive buzzwords as reasoning for their disdain toward Jesus Christ.
“No, Jesus is also a patriarchal story that has been co-opted by mainstream religion,” one of them interjected before Shirley could finish asking his question. The other added that the patriarchal nature of Christianity had been adopted by “a sh*t ton of white people.”
“His literal name was Yeshua, like that’s not even his name, you know,” she added. Apparently, this woman did not understand that Jesus can be referred to by several names depending on language. “Yeshua” is the Hebrew name, whereas “Jesus” is the English spelling of the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew name Iesous. The language in which Christ is referred to does not change the nature of his being.
The other female added, “It’s not about institutional religious indoctrination of people trying to control them. It’s about a genuine connection to like the spirit and godliness and nature.” Her associate further stated, “And the body like we were just talking about this morning this genocide couldn’t happen if it wasn’t for the level of true disembodiment which is also perpetuated by the prison industrial complex, the medical industrial complex capitalism. I mean, the whole nine yards.”
Conservative X account I Meme Therefore I Am commented on the video, writing, “The anti-Christianity movement is very strong at Harvard.” Other X users offered their opinions on the matter in the comments section, offering prayers of guidance for the “lost” women and calling out their political statements.
Several users, in a manner congruent with Christ’s teaching to love their neighbor, wished for the forgiveness and guidance of God for the individuals. “When evil speaks…. may God forgive and guide them,” one person posted. “They are so lost. May God draw them near to Himself,” another user added.
Other X users criticized how America’s elite universities have become breeding grounds for woke ideology, as manifested by the statements made in the video. “Harvard is a haven for Marxism,” one person commented.
Another person was skeptical that one of the interviewees even understood all of the woke terminology that had left her mouth. The user claimed they were likely “regurgitating” leftist catchphrases that woke professors commonly tout.
“I’d be curious if the girl in braids could define each phrase and big word she uses and actually tie them together. It’s more probable that she is just regurgitating something a professor said that she thought was profound,” they wrote.
