Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman recently made remarks that he “fully supports” the idea of ushering in Gazan refugees amid the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. Bowman also emphasized that he believes in granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants who have entered the U.S.
“Should the United States bring in people from Gaza?” a woman asked Bowman. The representative responded, “Well, we are a land of immigrants and we are a land of asylum seekers, anyone escaping persecution and oppression and violence.”
He continued, suggesting that America has always The United States has always been an “open home” to immigrants. “So whether they’re coming from Palestine, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Haiti. They’re coming here to contribute to our economy, which 99.9% of them are. We’ve always been a place to open our doors to immigrants coming here. So yeah, I fully support that. And also fully support amnesty for the migrants who have been here for quite some time to the United States.”
The Democratic representative’s comments have been circulating on social media where he has received substantial pushback from conservatives. Popular commentator Paul Szypula wrote, “If the average American knew someone committed a crime and then harbored them in their home, that American would be guilty of a crime. So why is it any different with the U.S. Government and illegals?”
Sassafrass84, another large X account, commented, “We are a land that has rules and laws that should be followed. These people are coming into America and mooching off the American taxpayer. I do not want anybody from Gaza allowed in. They do not assimilate. It would be a mass takeover.”
In stark contrast to Bowman’s opinions on immigration and asylum seekers, former President Donald Trump has consistently campaigned on a platform of securing the southern border and mass deportation of the millions of illegal immigrants across the country.
During a recent campaign event, Trump addressed the rampant migration that is drastically reshaping European societies, such as London and Paris. The former president pointed out that these cities are “no longer recognizable,” maintaining that he would not allow the same to happen to the United States under his leadership.
“Look at Paris, look at London. They are no longer recognizable, and I’m gonna get myself into a lot of trouble with the folks in Paris and the folks in London. But you know what? That’s the fact. They are no longer recognizable and we can’t let that happen to our country. We have incredible culture, tradition, nothing wrong with their culture, their tradition. Can’t let that happen here and I’ll never let it happen to the United States of America.” Trump said.
As Jamaal Bowman signals that the U.S. should welcome more migrants and asylum seekers, his home state is already reeling from the massive inflow of illegal immigrants in recent years. Reports from earlier this year indicate that New York City has received nearly 175,000 recent unlawful migrants. Subsequently, the Big Apple has endured a strain on its resources and infrastructure to accommodate the illegal aliens.
Radical Rep. Jamaal Bowman “fully supports” resettling Gazans in America and granting amnesty for the 10 million Biden-era illegals.
This is the America they want. Law breakers and terrorist sympathizers squatting in your neighborhood.
