If ever anyone in the Washington, DC Establishment’s pundit class hated then-candidate Donald J. Trump in 2015-2016, it was the National Review’s Jonah Goldberg, a RINO that did his best to derail the Trump Train despite it being the one thing between America and a Hillary Clinton presidency.
Since then he’s been mostly ushered to the fringes, as not only was he wrong about both the election and Trump, but he’s turned into little more than a pearl-clutching, hysterical Trump hater who rambles about how awful the former president is while defending every action of the Democrats or RINOs to sink Trump, however much those policies harm the conservative voters Goldberg is theoretically trying to appeal to.
Such is what he showed yet again in meltdown regarding the Hunter Biden laptop, one which has resurfaced thanks to the Twittergate revelations exposed by new Twitter owner Elon Musk and Substack journalist Matt Taibbi.
In the video, Goldberg was, for whatever reason, trying to attack the idea that the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story, censorship exposed in all its gory detail by Taibbi and Musk, had any effect on the election. Watch that here:

As you can hear in the video, Goldberg, losing his cool while describing the Hunter Biden laptop situation and how it might have affected the 2020 election, said:
“Talk about a to see, they now think that if only the media had told us about the laptop at the time as the kid yesterday was suggesting, which I don’t buy as, you know, theory that Trump would have won, you know, but for the censoring of the New York Post, Trump would have won.
“And it’s I think it’s a preposterous counterfactual, but it’s also it’s impossible for me to refute in the same way I cannot refute that this bottle is keeping all the polar bears away right? I mean, do you see any polar bears but I cannot I cannot prove the negative and…and this isn’t just the it has now become can we lock the doors just it has been wrapped into a much larger narrative and and so when they hear disinformation, they say, ‘Oh, you mean like Hunter laptop, which actually turned out to be true?'”
If it didn’t matter, Jonah, then why did the regime labor so intensively to censor it? More absurd than Goldberg’s words were his mannerisms: as you can see in the video, he’s utterly losing it while trying to discuss the issue, having a meltdown over the idea that Trump might have won had Twitter not censored a crucial story.
Goldberg wasn’t the only one to have a laptop-induced meltdown. More recently, a similarly virulent Trump hater, David French, went berserk on Twitter over conservative claims about Twitter censorship, saying:
“Elon Musk’s and Tucker Carlson’s confusion over the First Amendment goes to the heart of the importance of the laptop controversy itself. There is a vast gulf between government coercion and private choice, and we can’t forget the difference”
French even wrote a piece in the far-left Atlantic attacking the conservative view on Twitter censorship!

So that’s the headspace the RINOs are in: they’d rather defend censorship than attack their ostensible enemies.
