President Biden, during a campaign speech in Tampa, Florida, attempted to attack Trump for not being able to be trusted, but slightly messed up the words of his line of attack and so it turned into a gaffe that led to a slew of jokes about the aging president on social media. The comment came when Biden was attempting to attack Trump over Roe v. Wade being done away with.
Speaking about the situation, Biden said, “And, folks, in a sense, I don’t know why he’s — we’re surprised by Trump. How many times does he have to prove we can’t be trusted?” The White House Briefing room, correcting President Biden’s statement in an attempt to show what he was attempting to say, added a bracketed “he,” referring to Trump.
That corrected line is more clearly an attack on Trump rather than a butchered statement about trust. It read, “And, folks, in a sense, I don’t know why he’s — we’re surprised by Trump. How many times does he have to prove we — [he] can’t be trusted?”
Continuing, Biden then attacked Trump for his stance on abortion, saying, “Trump bragged how proud he was to get rid of Roe v. Wade over it — he took credit for it. He said there has to be “punishment” for women exercising their reproductive freedom.”
Predictably, the slip-up led to a good number of jokes and remarks about Biden on social media. Responding the clip of the gaffe that Breakin 911 posted, one person said, “When you’re so senile that the truth keeps slipping out.” Another, replying to that comment, wrote, “🎯 Unfortunately, Biden should go back to the beach and stay there!”
Another claimed that Biden must have dementia and that those who put Biden in charge despite his obvious mental shortcoming must be held accountable, saying, “Dementia is very sad. Every Democrat party member that enabled the President of the United States to be an old man with dementia will be fired this November.”

Many others chimed in as well. Tomi Lahren, for example, joked, “Well even a blind squirrel finds a nut.” Chris LaCivita, a GOP strategist, said, “You’ll see this again and again and again…..” Also chiming in was Tony Kinnett, a radio host, who said, “Man’s going to endorse Trump at this rate.” Edward Dowd, an author, also joked about Biden, saying, “We have a perfect puppet in the seat of the president right now. He can’t remember the lies handed to him and most of his supporters can’t remember what they ate for lunch. Memories of goldfish…of course no disrespect to goldfish.” Jake Schneider, who works for the GOP, said, “Agreed, Joe — you can’t be trusted!”
Continuing with his speech after the gaffe, Biden continued to sound off on the Dobbs decision, saying, “He described the Dobbs decision as a “miracle.” Maybe it’s coming from that Bible he’s trying to sell. Whoa. I almost wanted to buy one just to see what the hell is in it. Folks, it was no miracle. It was a political deal to get rid of Roe v. — a deal. A political deal he made with the Evangelical base of the Republican Party to look past his moral char- — if they looked past his moral and character flaws in exchange for his commitment to appoint justices of the Supreme Court who would overturn Roe. Don’t think he’s making the deal right now with MAGA extremists to ban nationwide abortion in every single state, because he’s making it.
He then said, “In fact, the MAGA majority in the House of Representatives has introduced three separate bans — three separate bans to choi- — to ban choice nationwide — in every single state, based on the state — each state. These bills — they’re overwhelming — have overwhelming support of Republicans in Congress. But know this: As long as I have the power of the presidency, it’s never going to happen.”
