Five Cars Used By Joe Biden’s Secret Service Melted In Fire At Nantucket Memorial Airport

Five vehicles that were recently used by President Joe Biden’s Secret Service erupted in flames at the Nantucket Memorial Airport early Monday morning.

Biden had been spending Thanksgiving on the high-end island with family before leaving less than 24 hours before the fire.

According to the Nantucket Current, “there were no injuries, but five cars sustained significant damage and the blaze occurred just 40 feet from the airport’s jet fuel tanks.”

Those five vehicles are cars that had been rented by the Secret Service from Hertz. The cars were a Chevy Suburban, Ford Explorer, Infinity QX80, Ford Expedition, and Jeep Gladiator.

The airport released a statement detailing the scene and timeline of the event shortly after the flames were extinguished.

“At approximately 5:22 am Airport shift staff observed an active fire in the rental car overflow area through the Airport’s Closed Circuit Television System. Staff activated the Alert system and responded to the fire in Airport-3, where they were met by responding units from Nantucket Fire Department and Nantucket Police Department. Combined fire resources responded and contained the fire. Several vehicles were damaged. The Airport is currently coordinating with rental car agencies and agency partners to ensure scene safety. There is no longer an active fire at this time: the Airport is open, and aeronautical operations are not affected.”

The Nantucket Current also retrieved surveillance camera footage of the fire, which it shared on Twitter.

“Here’s a portion of the surveillance video of the rental cars used by Secret Service agents going up in flames at #Nantucket Memorial Airport less than 24 hours after President Biden left the island”

Of course, people all around the country have latched onto this story and are wondering at the coincidence that all five Secret Service vehicles were burned.

One user remarked at the unlikelihood of all five cars being in the same fire.

“Five cars rented by President Joe Biden’s Secret Service detail for his Thanksgiving weekend trip to Nantucket mysteriously burst into flames a day after he left.”

Seems fishy to me, but I’m sure they’ll tell us it was an accident.

There are swathes of other Tweets echoing the same sentiment, and with the investigation ongoing, it may be a while before all the details are released.

While in Nantucket, Biden ironically spoke to the Nantucket Fire Department.

In that speech, he declared that he would be banning all assault weapons and, more alarmingly, all semi-automatic weapons.

“The idea we still allow semiautomatic weapons to be purchased is sick.  It’s just sick.  It has no, no social redeeming value.  Zero.  None.  Not a single, solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers.”
