Getting fired by Fox News Channel has, if anything, made Tucker Carlson even better known and, among a certain section of the population, better regarded and more popular. Such could be seen when Tucker walked on stage with podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan, as the crowd roared with applause and adulation as Tucker strode across the stage.
The event occurred in Austin, Texas, at Rogan’s Comedy Mothership Club. About thirty minutes in to the weekly comedy podcast hosted at the club called “Kill Tony,” during which up-and-coming comedians perform for a minute each in front of judges, the judge announced special guests Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan would be coming on stage. As they did so, the crowd erupted in applause.
The two men then took turns greeting everyone on stage as the audience continued to roar with applause. Rogan, joking about the night’s turn and how he had tricked Tucker into getting on stage in front of everyone, laughingly said, “Tucker had no idea this was going on till about 30 seconds ago.” He continued, “He had no idea he was going on stage, he’s just finding out right now.”
Tucker, admitting that he had no idea that he would appear on stage in front of the audience when he visited the club, said that they were at dinner and Rogan had said they would visit, then he suddenly heard his name announced and found himself on stage. He said, “We were literally at dinner, and he’s [Rogan] like I wanna show you my new place. And we were standing backstage and I didn’t know I was coming out till I heard my name.”
Then Tony Hinchcliffe asked Tucker what he thought of comedian Enrique Chacon. Tucker was positive, saying, “I love this man.” Chacon, joking back, said, “Aw, thank you Tucker. Maybe in return you could get me a green card.” He continued, “I’ll do any gig in this country, but outside the country I’m a have to hit up my man Tucker, you know what I mean?”
Tucker played along, joking, “You’re already taking jobs Americans can’t do.” Chacon joked as well, saying, “I was going to vote for you, but you know what? You lost a good one here, but actually I can’t vote.” Tucker laughed, “No, I meant it as a compliment!” Hinchcliffe then asked who Chacon thought Tucker is, asking, “Vote for him? Wait, hold on, Enrique who do you think Tucker Carlson is?”
Another comedian, William Montgomery, joked, “Backstage Tucker actually asked me if I could tell some jokes in Russian.” Then, being positive about Tucker and the experience, Montgomery went on to say, “But seriously, Tucker, my family has always worshipped you. It’s awesome that you came down from heaven to do Kill Tony.”

This event was similar to the UFC event at which Tucker appeared alongside Dana White, former President Donald Trump, and Kid Rock, also to the massive applause of the crowd. Since leaving Fox News, his entertaining and informative show, along with his love of “Zyn” nicotine patches, has made him immensely popular among younger, populist conservatives.
