Will the Democratic Party stick with President Joe Biden through the 2024 election despite his verbal gaffes and staircase-induced stumbles, or will they try to replace him with someone more vigorous and capable before the election occurs? Podcast host Joe Rogan, addressing that question, said that he thinks the president’s party will ditch him in the summer of 2024 and replace him with someone like Gavin Newsom who is younger and more vigorous.
That came when Rogan spoke with comedian Andrew Schulz about the state of the presidential race, saying that he thought the Democrats would have kicked Biden to the curb by now but that, as election day draws ever-nearer and President Biden remains the nominee, he’s starting to think the party might actually plan on having him run.
Making that point, Rogan told Schulz, “The idea that they’re going to keep running him is just bananas. You’re going to keep him in there? I can’t believe that’s real, but as time goes on I’m starting to think they might actually keep running him.”
Responding, Schulz said that one problem for those within the Democratic Party who would like to see Biden replaced is that they don’t have any particularly good options for a replacement, telling Rogan, “I don’t know why that they would switch him out, they’re not in a position they can switch him out for anybody. Who steps in?”
Rogan, speculating on what would have to happen for the Democrats to replace Biden, said, “He would have to kick the bucket.” Schulz suggested that the Democratic Party might be considering swapping out Biden for California Governor Gavin Newsom, asking Rogan if he thinks that is what the Democrats are currently hoping for.
Rogan then speculated on how long Biden has before he’s replaced, saying (without any evidence whatsoever), “May. I think [Biden]’s got until May. I feel like right around May they’re going to pull him.” Schulz, somewhat shocked by Rogan’s prediction about now long Biden has left, said, “And Newsom comes in.”
Rogan then explained why he thinks Biden might not have long left as the nominee and argued that Gov. Newsom could strike a deal with current Vice President Kamala Harris, saying, “I think he just has health problems and then the country understands, and Newsom is gonna have his support fully and Kamala is gonna be like ‘I don’t even want to be president, I’m cool with being vice president.’”
Shulz, asking if he means Newsom and Kamala would be the ticket, said, “So Newsom runs with Kamala?” Rogan, responding, told him, “Yeah, I think so. I don’t think they can pull Kamala.” He then added that Kamala would not be a huge liability for the ticket “as long as they can keep her quiet.”

This isn’t the first time Rogan has addressed if Biden is mentally capable of being president. In another interview, he commented on the Hur report and said, “Basically, you can’t prosecute this guy because he’s non compos mentis, but you can let him run for the President of the United States in November… so that’s the that’s the world that we’ve managed to get into.”
In that same episode, he added that he thinks the Democratic Party will have to replace Biden with someone, saying, “I think they’re gonna get rid of him, I think they’re gonna move him out, they’re gonna force him to step down. That’s what I think.”
