As we approach the 2024 presidential election later this year, one of the biggest reservations Americans have toward Biden is his questionable mental and physical fitness. Throughout this presidency, Biden had numerous public slip-ups that have drawn into question the faculties of the 81-year-old.
RNC Research, an account on X maintained by the Republican National Committee, recently posted videos of Biden from a recent speech demonstrating this behavior that has many voters concerned. “Tremendous amount of things you can cut,” the president said before pausing and mumbling in a confused and unassured manner. “Tremendous amount of things you can do, not cut,” Biden said, correcting himself. RNC Research commented, “Biden’s brain completely breaks mid-sentence.”
Following his remarks, Biden shuffled away from the podium in a manner that highlighted his elderly age. RNC Research mocked the President mocked the president on X, writing, “Biden wraps up a few minutes of incoherent remarks and shuffles away — with VIGOR!”
“I’ve seen more vigorous shuffles in a local nursing home. At least he managed to find his way off the stage and didn’t shake hands with any invisible people. Next, he’s off to New Hampshire to lie about “lowering costs for American families,” one person commented on X.
Ahead of the election, some have begun to question whether Biden would participate in a head-to-head debate against Trump, given skepticism around his cognitive abilities. Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy has consistently questioned press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the matter.
During a recent White House press briefing, Doocy pressed KJP regarding how Biden would perform in a hypothetical debate. ”How would President Biden do in a debate?” he pressed her. “How would he do in a debate, it’s been four years?” The press secretary responded to the question, pointing to his performance in the 2023 State of the Union.
“You literally saw just last year back in January 2023 at the last State of the Union take on Republicans during…giving a major speech. He took them on as they were heckling him. He took them on and said he was going to fight for programs essentially said he was fighting for programs that the American people needed Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. He stood there and fought for the American people. I mean, that was pretty impressive. Some of y’all reported on that,” she said.
However, Donald Trump has made it abundantly clear that he wishes to debate Joe Biden before the election, stressing that it is essential for the “good of our country.” In the spirit of Democracy, Trump explained he is willing and eager to debate “anytime, anywhere, anyplace.”
“It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People,” Trump said. “Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
