President Joe Biden visited Pennsylvania for a campaign stop, giving a speech at Wallingford, PA’s Strath Haven Middle School. Predictably, the speech was a gaffe-filled disaster, with the elderly President doing his usual yelling at Trump routine and making numerous embarrassing gaffes that brought his fitness to question in the minds of many.
One such embarrassing slip up was when, yelling to the crowd, Biden said, “Pennsylvania, I have a message for you: send me to Congress!” That came as he was calling on the crowd to help the Democrats retake Congress so they could pass a law making Roe v. Wade national law. He continued, “I can support this right I promise you we take back Congress we we will restore Roe v Wade as the law of the land!”
It was unclear whether Biden had, in the speech, made a gaffe or mental slip up and confusedly thought he was running for Congress, or if he meant he wanted voters to send the Democratic Party to DC with more power and a mandate to reform abortion law. Likely, he meant the latter, and the wording of the statement was just a bit off. However, regardless of what he appears to have meant, many on social media used the incident to take Biden to task.
Posting about the incident on X (formerly Twitter), many commenters ridiculed the elderly president over the gaffe. “This man should be sitting on the porch of a ranch somewhere watching his great grandchildren play, not making critical decisions for the country,” one wrote. Somewhat missing the point, others replied to that comment saying that Biden should be “in prison” instead.
Another commenter joked that, at this point, the nation would be happy to stick Biden back in Congress and get him out of the Oval Office. That commenter said, “We’d be happy to send you back to Congress. You sure that you’re reading the correct teleprompter?” Similarly, another commenter joked, “I think Pennsylvanians should write him in for their respective congressional candidate.”
Others joked that the White House hadn’t been able to give Biden the proper stimulants for the speech because Hunter used them up (there was no evidence of this, they were just joking), saying things like When the State of Dementia drugs are unavailable because Hunter used them” and “lol, I said he asked his son to share the good stuff so he can have high energy for the #StateOfTheUnion He didn’t know how to take it. His son being the great son that he is so proud of was more than happy to show dad.” Another joked, “Drugs are wearing off and maybe too much in 2 days.”

During the speech, Biden also made his more typical types of attacks and statements, saying at one point, for example, “Folks, your freedoms are really on the ballot this November. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans are trying to take away our freedoms. That is not an exaggeration. But guess what, we will not let him.”
