Recently, a Michigan auto worker expressed his frustration with the Biden administration’s harmful policies toward the American auto industry. Appearing on Fox News, Brian Pannebecker explained that he and others would turn out to vote for former President Donald Trump come November.
Despite an official Biden endorsement from the United Auto Workers Union, many blue-collar Americans have indicated they do not support the president’s reelection efforts. Pannebecker explained that voting for Donald Trump was a “very simple” choice in light of the former president’s policy achievements that benefited domestic industry.
“Well, it’s very simple for me, Bill. Donald Trump came into office tore up the NAFTA agreement, which was horrible for American auto workers, and renegotiated the USMCA which leveled the playing field so it’s not as incentivized for our jobs and plants to go to Mexico. That alone is enough. But opening up Anwar and in Alaska for oil drilling, got gas prices down below $2 a gallon. You know, I mean, it’s all a Biden’s policies of bait basically hurt auto workers,” he said.
The auto worker continued slamming President Biden for his seeming lack of interest in genuinely supporting striking auto workers. According to Pannebecker, Biden only showed up at the picket line for a “photo op” just to leave immediately after. In contrast, he praised Trump for his commitment to representing the interests of the workers.
“He showed up for 15 minutes to walk on a picket line and get his picture taken. It was nothing more than a photo While Donald Trump walks the walk. He doesn’t walk the picket line for a photo op and then leave,” Pannebecker continued.
The Michigan native described the negative effects of the Biden EV agenda on the domestic auto industry. Pannebecker claimed the focus on battery-powered cars could threaten job security around gasoline engine manufacturing.
“Bill, we’ve had two engine plants close in Macomb County in the last few years while they were ramping up to build more electric vehicles. Think about it. What does an electric vehicle not need? An engine. And we have entire plants with 1000s of workers devoted to building gasoline engines, and he’s getting rid of those. So it’s, it’s a real easy decision for automakers to make. We’re voting for Donald Trump on November 5,” he said.
The American Tribune recently reported on the comments from a union boss, explaining why some UAW workers would side with Trump over Biden. “Look, every that’s what makes us country, you know, the beacon for other countries. You know, it’s democracy and action. Look, let me be clear about this. A great majority of our members will not vote for president Biden, yes, some will. But that’s the reality of this. The majority of our members are going to vote their paychecks. They’re going to vote for an economy that works for them and they’re going to vote for a president. When you look at these two presidents, the choice is very clear about which one stands up with the working class and stands up for labor, and which one stands for the beginner class. And that’s his base.”
