The 2024 presidential election is quickly approaching, and former President and current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump appears to be the lock for the Republican nomination. On the Democrat side, the presumptive nominee, Joe Biden, appears to be crumbling in front of our eyes, leaving many to wonder what the left will do if the 81-year-old sitting president falters or, even worse, dies.
While liberals continue to push forward with Biden, the issue of who would replace him if necessary is a hot-button topic. Democrats spent the entire Trump Administration besmirching the president and making up conspiracy theories instead of prepping a viable candidate, and now, instead of having someone ready, they are stuck with an 81-year-old candidate that most people don’t want to run.
Now, as we approach the November election, other names are being floated as potential candidates should Biden falter. Among the possibilities, Michelle Obama and California Gavin Newsom seem to be the most plausible, and Newsom has spent a great deal of time traveling the country on the apparent campaign trail. Newsom even went as far as to debate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a nationally televised debate that, by all accounts, he lost.
Recently, one of the most outspoken conservatives in Washington had some cautionary words about Gavin Newsom. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky, had this a warning to America to “never, ever let Gavin Newsom anywhere near the White House” should Biden move on with life. Paul isn’t just anti-Newsom. He is an avowed “NeverNikki” person as well, displaying his distaste for the former South Carolina Governor.
In a recent speech, Paul railed against Fauci and the pandemic. He said: “Never again should we let them lock us down. Never again should we be put into this situation. Never again should we allow them to come into our schools, never again should we let them set one foot into our churches. Liberty requires eternal vigilance, I’m going to keep fighting with every breath I have,”
Paul echoes what many conservatives feel in terms of the covid pandemic, but he also recognizes that folks from all walks of life are agreeing with him. Regarding the diversity on the GOP side, he said: “I think that while diversity for diversity’s sake is not a great idea, the idea that we are people from different places, we need more people from different places to be in the party.” Indeed, more minorities are joining the ranks of the Republicans, and Paul acknowledged that and welcomed them with open arms.
Paul continued: “I’m for strict policy of no illegal immigration. But I think some of the best Americans just got here. We have to be able to say that and be encouraging to have first-generation immigrants in our party. Asian, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Hispanic. They need to be in our party. And we have to be a bigger party.” It shouldn’t be a controversial take to want folks to migrate here legally, but to the left, it is heresy.
Watch Rand Paul here:
It should be ok to require legal immigration. Breaking the laws of America shouldn’t be rewarded, yet the Biden Administration treats Americans worse than law-breaking migrants. Gavin Newsom will mirror many of Biden’s bad policies, and his record on immigration in his state of California should give everyone pause. Rand Paul correctly is calling out Newsome as he is likely to continue Biden’s bad policy if he were in the White House.
