Famous conservative comedian Rob Schneider has been a vocal critic of Democrats, particularly in California, where he claims progressive policies have damaged the state. According to Schneider, more residents are “fleeing” California than any other state.
Schneider posted on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a post from Nathan Hochman, a candidate running for LA District Attorney in 2024. Hochman stands as a challenger to leftist George Gascon, who has received harsh criticism for his progressive policies many deem “pro-criminal.” According to Hochman’s X account, he is “running to restore public safety and justice for all.”
Hochman shared a recent appearance on X on “The Adam Corolla Show,” where he explained his political aspirations. “I was on the @AdamCarollaShow today discussing why I’m the best candidate to defeat pro-criminal George Gascon and restore public safety in Los Angeles County.” Hochman wrote in his post.
Rob Schneider replied to this post, illustrating the mass exodus from California while partly blaming Gacon’s policies for making the state so undesirable. “More people are fleeing California than ANY OTHER STATE! That is largely because of of the crazy criminal friendly policies of Los Angeles DA George Gascon,” Schneider said.
Many users in the comments section voiced their agreement with Schneider, posting messages of support. “Gavin Newsom’s policy of incentivizing mass illegal immigration isn’t helping to keep American citizens in California either!” one person wrote.
“They’re leaving California in droves because they can’t stand the achievements it’s experienced under Democrat leadership. You’re just jealous of their successes. It’s so awesome there that people from other countries are illegally jumping walls to partake in its magnificence,” another person posted, including a gif of a massive homeless encampment surrounded by trash.
“CA, OR, and WA are all progressive controlled sanctuary states for criminals. No point in going north. Everyone better band together against them & take their representation back or it’s gonna get a lot worse,” another user added calling for citizens to vote accordingly.
In recent years, Schneider has been highly vocal about the failings of the Democratic party. Having previously been a lifelong Democrat, the comedian joined the Republican party in 2013 after claiming liberal politics no longer represented the interests of Californians. “The state of California is a mess, and the super majority of Democrats is not working. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat and I have to switch over because it no longer serves the people of this great state,” he said.
In 2022, The American Tribune reported on comments from Schneider, calling on Californians fleeing to other states to not bring their politics with them. “Dear Former California Residents, YOU moved out of California for a reason; crime, out of control homelessness, taxes, your children being indoctrinated in schools, individual rights being trampled etc!” he said.“So please don’t vote the same way to replicate the same s**t you just left!”
Rob also stated in an interview that he chose to relocate to Arizona to escape Democrat governance. “I really feel like I don’t want the Democratic Party trying to run my life. And there’s not one aspect of your life that they don’t want to interfere with.”
