This week, Hillary Clinton was interrupted and heckled by a pro-Palestinian protestor during a speech at Columbia University in New York City. The protestor called out the former Secretary of State under the Obama administration for policies she supported between 2009 and 2013.
“Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, you are a war criminal!” the protestor shouted as Clinton stepped onto the stage. “The people of Libya, the people of Iraq, the people of Syria, the people of Yemen, the people of Palestine as well as the people of America will never forgive you,” he continued.
Keren Yarhi-Milo, dean of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, tried to assume control of the situation and remove the man from the room as Clinton appeared less than pleased with the interruption. While being escorted out of the event, he repeatedly shouted, “Free, free Palestine!” while suggesting to Clinton that, “You will burn!”
“Let me thank all of you for coming. Because this is such an important subject and as you just heard from Milan it is one that she and I and so many others have been focused on for decades. And yelling doesn’t solve the problem. The kind of hard work and the work that you will hear from the panelists today. I think it’s important that we…” Clinton said, trying to begin her speech before being interrupted yet again.
The former Secretary of State attempted to talk over the interruptions but was forced to pause her speech, saying, “OK, we’re going to stop a minute. You know what, why don’t all of you just interrupt me so that you won’t be interrupting our panelists so that we don’t have this kind of disruption when we have people who are real experts in this area.”
“And so I think it’s, I think it’s important to focus on the event where here people are free to protest but they are not free to disrupt events or classes. And that is going to be the, you know, the standards that we follow here and going forward,” Clinton added.
The American Tribune also reported on a recent instance where Hillary Clinton was visibly triggered by Tucker Carlson’s decision to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. Clinton slammed Carlson for supposedly propagating Russian propaganda as a “useful idiot.”
“Well, it shows me what I think we’ve all known. He’s what is called a useful idiot. I mean, if you actually read translations of what’s being said on Russian media, they make fun of him. I mean, he’s like a puppy dog. You know, somehow, after having been fired from so many outlets and the United States, he– I would not be surprised if he emerges with a contract with a Russian outlet because he is a useful idiot,” Clinton said.
“It’s really quite sad that not just somebody like Tucker Carlson who has, as I said, been fired so many times because he seems unable to correlate his reporting with the truth, but also because it is a sign that there are people in this country right now who are like a fifth column from Vladimir Putin,” she added.
