Joy Reid must count among the most ungrateful humans to ever have lived. As she reminds us five nights a week and then countless other times on abhorrent social media posts, she is victimized on account of being black and female. And yet, to be a black female in America in the 21st century is a gift beyond comparison.
She would do well to celebrate Thanksgiving and reflect on her genuine good fortune. Aside from just existing in the greatest epoch of all time, she has been blessed beyond measure with her fame and fortune. Anyone that looks at Reid and sees a victim of oppression is an idiot.
So naturally, being the person she is, Reid took time out of her soulless monologic diatribes to slam Thanksgiving and America’s entire founding out of pure ignorant, hate-filled spite.
Joy Reid smears America's history on the eve of Thanksgiving: "We are a country founded on violence. Our birth was violent. In 1619, a ship with more than 20 enslaved Africans landed in Virginia, ushering in two centuries of American slavery that left millions in chains or dead." pic.twitter.com/jMdKOrp8bT

“For millions of Americans it’s a cherished tradition. And as Americans we certainly value those traditions,” Reid said, pretending to honor the tradition of giving thanks to God and being grateful for our bounty. She committed a single fake sentence before diving into her unholy rant.
“But it’s also important to unpack the myth of Thanksgiving,” she began. “It is a holiday riddled with inaccuracies, built on this myth that the indigenous welcomed their colonizers with open arms and ears of corn; a simplistic fairytale interpretation of a 1621 encounter between indigenous tribes and English settlers that erases the genocide that followed.”
As always happens, Reid then segued from attacking Thanksgiving to attacking Republicans writ large, accusing them of intentionally erasing American violence. I don’t recall George Washington registering as a Republican in 1789 when he declared Thanksgiving a national holiday, and I certainly don’t see how the modern GOP, replete with sellouts like Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, are advancing the cause of freedom, but when have facts or logic slowed down Reid’s slanderous commentary?
She continued:
“It’s the truth that Republicans want banned from our textbooks, because here’s the secret they want so desperately to keep: We are a country founded on violence,” Reid said. Then she added that “we are a country that still chooses violence.”
“Our birth was violent,” Reid accused. “In 1619, a ship with more than 20 enslaved Africans landed in Virginia ushering in two centuries of American slavery that left millions in chains or dead. And when those humans in bondage were finally free, a terrorist organization that was a card-carrying member of polite society — the Ku Klux Klan —picked up where the Civil War ended using violence to maintain white supremacy,” she finished.
There aren’t even enough words in the English language to accurately describe Reid at this point. One thing for sure is that she’s miserable. Where negative human emotions like envy, misery, and anger end, what’s left of her is nothing more than robotic intonations. She is an automaton repeating programmed thinking.
How else to describe Reid’ unhinged Twitter posts describing contemporary Republicanism. She wrote in two separate tweets:
I genuinely fear that before long, America will look a lot more like Russia or Hungary or even Afghanistan than any one of y’all can imagine. Because Republicans are aggressive in their pursuit of social and political control, while just about everyone else is pretty disengaged.
It’s Putinite fascism mixed with Talibanism. And it’s what they hope to impose on us: unbreakable rule by far right Christian ideologues, coal & oil polluters, heeled corporations & the super rich. With all rights hoarded by white Christian men & everyone else under firm control.
