In one of the most substantial endorsements of the Trump Presidency yet, the former President and current GOP frontrunner for 2024 received one of the highest honors of his political life on Tuesday. The 45th President has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his work and success in implementing the Abraham Accords treaty in the Middle East.
The nomination was made public by Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), who is seeking to record the historic agreement. The Abraham Accords are specifically aimed at normalizing diplomatic relations and establishing peace between Israel and the two Arab States of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. In the weeks following the signing, other Arab and Muslim states joined, including Sudan, Morocco, and Kosovo. In four years, President Trump brought peace to a region once thought impossible
.Tenney said: “Donald Trump was instrumental in facilitating the first new peace agreements in the Middle East in almost 30 years.” What was once a fairy tale became reality under Trump. Tenney continued: “For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy ‘professionals’, and international organizations insisted that additional Middle East peace agreements were impossible without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump proved that to be false.”
When Trump left office, the Middle East was it’s most peaceful in a generation. Many more nations were set to sign on. President Trump recently said: “You would have had every country sign, including possibly Iran, into the Abraham Accords if the election wasn’t rigged. By this time, you would have had every country—Saudi Arabia, and maybe even Iran—signed.”
It is difficult to dispute Trump’s claim, considering since Joe Biden took office, no other countries have joined the Accord, and in fact, the Middle East is a powderkeg waiting to explode. Much of this is because of Biden’s reversal of Trump’s economic squeeze on Iran. Iran was essentially unable to fund their vast network of terror proxies until Biden once again restored the flow of money to the country.
President Trump said: “Iran, as you know, was broke with me. Now, they’ve got $250 billion. I’m not even talking about the $6 billion and the $10 billion. They have $250 billion now, but they were broke. There was no money for Hamas, no money for Hezbollah.” Under Biden the America-hating nation is flush with cash and threatening world security.
This isn’t the first time Trump has been nominated, but it is the most significant nomination. Bringing any peace between Israelis, Jews, and the Arab world has long been considered all but impossible until Donald Trump. Tenney went on to note that Trump has long gotten no recognition for his work on the historic Accords, even as the agreement is recognized and celebrated by Joe Biden.
The Middle East is another area of President Trump’s success that Biden couldn’t undo quickly enough. The current president has ruined the Southern Border and economy and caused unrest across the globe through his weakness. However, unleashing Iran in the region may serve to destroy the Accords forever, and that will be Biden’s biggest failure.
