Ian Ziering, the 59-year-old actor who starred in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and his 12-year-old daughter were attacked on New Year’s Eve by a group of bikers while driving through Los Angeles and stuck in traffic. The actor and his daughter were uninjured during the attack, but Ziering, after it, called for police to take more effective action against the criminals who are making life in Los Angeles hellish for residents.
Ziering made that call for more effective action in a post on Instagram, in which he first explained what happened during the attack and how it escalated to a violent confrontation, then went on to call for the authorities in the city to take stronger action against the thugs and criminals causing such severe problems for residents of the city.
Ziering began the post by saying, “Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”
Continuing, he informed his followers that he and his daughter were not injured during the assault, but that it left him deeply worried about the state of the city. He said, “I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”
He then added that the attack highlights, for him, the need for the law enforcement authorities to respond much more strongly to the rampant criminality in Los Angeles, saying, “This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior.”
Ziering also noted that he finds the situation deeply disturbing as a parent because of the lack of safety it symbolizes, saying, “As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”
Continuing, he said, “I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences.”
Concluding, he ended the statement on something of a positive note, writing, “I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time. It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year.”
