Dozens of Epstein associates were revealed by court documents unsealed on the night of Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Those court documents were part of a now-settled lawsuit between Virginia Guiffre and Ghislaine Maxwell. Among those named repeatedly in the documents is former President Bill Clinton, with one victim alleging that she was told Bill Clinton liked “young” girls.
That was revealed in sworn 2016 testimony from Epstein victim Johanna Sjoberg, who spoke about both allegations against Prince Andrew, and about her knowledge of former President Bill Clinton’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Mr. Clinton has not been indicted or accused of any crime.
In that sworn testimony, Ms. Sjoberg alleged that Jeffrey Epstein told her that the former president like “young” girls, though she did not specify whether “young” there meant underage or simply youthful, but adult, women. Specifically, Ms. Sjoberg testified that “[Epstein] said one time that Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.”
Then, when asked about the closeness of former President Bill Clinton’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, Ms. Sjoberg testified “I knew he had dealings with Bill Clinton. I did not know they were friends until I read the Vanity Fair article about them going to Africa together.” Though she did not testify about it, Clinton did fly with Epstein more than two dozen times, according to Fox News, sometimes to international locations like Africa.
However, Ms. Sjoberg also testified that there were some things indicating Clinton and Epstein were not as close as some suspect. For example, she testified that she never personally met former President Clinton, never saw him on Epstein’s Little St. James island in the Caribbean, and never saw him being flown in a helicopter by Ghislaine Maxwell.
In the documents released on Wednesday night, former President Bill Clinton was referenced 73 times in total. That put him roughly in league with another high-profile Epstein associate, Prince Andrew, who was referenced 67 times in the documents. Ms. Sjoberg testified, in one of the documents, that Prince Andrew touched her breast while sitting on a couch inside Epstein’s Manhattan home in 2001.
In a 2019 statement on former President Clinton’s relationship with Epstein, Clinton spokesperson Angel Urena said, “President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York. In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation.”
Continuing, Urena said, “Staff, supporters of the Foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip. He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein’s New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail. He’s not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade, and has never been to Little St. James Island, Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, or his residence in Florida.”
